The reality of the energy density of the liquid fuels, what we get for what we pay, $6 or even $20 is an incredible bargain, compared to feeding-watering-taking care of horses.
And news of course ignores it, it's just ok. they are too fucking busy worrying about some country fuck knows where in Europe near Russia.

We will pay whatever we have to, for our jobs and our businesses and whatever, causing spending on other stuff to drop.
I wonder how many talked to the Silent generation when you were kidsMy mother's generation saw the first of a lot of things we have today as well. The youngest in her family of seven, she was born in 1902 and started teaching in 1924. She would have driven or my father taken her to school in that day's equivalent of a Model T Ford and it wouldn't have been a new one. When she retired 46 years later in 1970, the difference in years between today and 1976, she bought a brand new LTD with all the comforts available at the time. Her generation was also the last generation to teach real subjects in real schools by real teachers.

My father, who was born in 1938 told me a story about his uncle he heard when he was a kid - his first ride in a car.
His uncle was driven from Harrisville NY to Star Lake. He got there in an hour. He never gone so fast in his life!
They are 20 miles apart.
I wonder how many talked to the Silent generation when you were kids. My grandmother and her siblings told me that "life was so much easier". They got vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and dish washers introduced to them in their lifetime. They used to beat rugs to clean them, scrub clothes on a wash board, and of course all dishes were washed by hand. Most of them didn't bother with a dish washer, it only took a few minutes...
It’s too bad they didn’t encourage us to use natural gas to run our cars.
I would have considered converting a vehicle to CNG but there’s no place to fill up almost.
It’s better all around and cheaper, just slightly less power than gasoline.
Buses run fine on it all over the place.
Maybe instead of sending Ukraine billions they should send us gas vouchers, it's our fucking money!

When I went to the Apple Store to recycle a laptop I was pleased to see all of them who contributed to my AAPL dividends.
Although, seems to me this means oil prices may stop climbing for us, but I'm not sure it means they will come down much, as if prices fall too far, those new shale wells would shut down - they have to stay somewhat elevated to keep the new shale wells online.
Ironically for me is the more poor are bred, the more shit they consume and the more stocks rise, including dividends.

Where are you located? I assume California?
Truth be told, this is a tax on the poor and working class. It doesn’t impact the well off folks IMO. I hope the poor and working class folks, who voted for Biden, are happy with their votes.

The immediate impact is on the poor and working class. The more affluent will feel it slowly over time with increased taxes and other government-induced problems.
I hear some states are cancelling their state taxes on fuel. I don't see how this will help much, as it won't increase supply or decrease demand.
Here in California, there's a proposal to give $400 to every registered vehicle owner. I suppose this includes EVs? The good news is that it isn't means tested, so I'll finally be getting some tiny bit of my tax money back from the state!
Hircus is correct, rising crude oil prices will slow down the economy so raising interest rates is now unnecessary.
EV owners don’t pay fuel road taxes at the pump, and as such, those vehicles that are full BEV should be excluded from any kind of fuel tax offsetting payout.
This may have been the point of provoking Russia into invading Ukraine
Putin needed no provocation.
On Feb 14 Germany clearly said that NATO membership for Ukraine was not under consideration.
Shaman saysThis may have been the point of provoking Russia into invading Ukraine
Poor, stupid Russia: got herself provoked into a quagmire for no good reason. Low IQ country indeed.

The USA had far less reason to be “provoked” into a second war/quagmire with Iraq. Or even Afghanistan.

If you want gas vouchers - move to California: Newscum will be sending $400 per vehicle.

I know CA, they'll tax me $1000, then they'll give me $50 back to feel good about myself. Because they are faggots!

Just ranting, really upset over this shit. It's lowering our budgets significantly because I'm not rich.
