The pipelines suffered at least three major leaks, due to suspected sabotage.

Blasts detected near Nord Stream pipelines amid leak – Swedish seismologists

Scientists in Denmark and Sweden registered underwater explosions near the Nord Stream pipelines on Monday, when several major leaks were reported. Sabotage is now suspected as a key reason for the damage.

“There is no doubt that these were explosions,” seismologist Bjorn Lund with Sweden’s National Seismology Centre (SNSN) told public broadcaster SVT on Tuesday.

The Danish military released aerial footage of the leaks, showing large spots and visible bubbling in the water. Nord Stream 1 suffered two leaks northeast of the Danish island of Bornholm, while Nord Stream 2 was damaged south of Dueodde, a beach located at the island’s southernmost tip, the military noted.

Earlier in the day, Moscow said it has been looking into the reasons behind the leaks, suggesting the pipelines were targeted in an act of sabotage. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that currently “no option can be ruled out” on the causes of the incident.

The Nord Stream 1 pipeline was completed in 2011. Construction work on Nord Stream 2 began in 2018, and suffered numerous delays due to political pressure and sanctions from the US. The pipeline was finished and pressurized in September 2021, but never actually got online.

Two days before the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, the German government put its certification on indefinite hold, and has repeatedly rejected any suggestions, both domestic and from Moscow, to open the pipeline.

No worries. I don't recall seeing anything too personal to be offended.

The Russians use their large sailing ships MIR and Sedov (Sedov) for underwater special operations in the Baltic Sea and did it to sabotage the NS?

Because they don't like money, and don't have any sanctions to worry about? Because they don't need Nord as a bargaining chip, like they've been using it? Because why shut it off when you can blow it up?

And definitely, definitely because when you've got the biggest neoCon of the 20th century and the senile guy in the White House stating multiple times they will take Nord down no matter what, well that's just malarky!

I may have mentioned this before, but a friend who was full on Liberal and obsessed with Trump is now in a long-term care facility. Guy had plenty of issues, but that stuff didn't help him.

Back to doing everything possible to start WWIII: IHLlary allegedly promised to the Globalist masters that when she was elected President, which she considered her dynastic privilege since childhood, that she would: 1. Complete the destruction and dismantling of the US Republic 2. Start WWIII using Ukraine to promote a provocation as a flash point with a US city nuked in a false flag.

It looks like things are unfolding along those lines. When I read that a while ago, I didn't really believe it, but with all the Biden Actor administration, every nightmarish Satanic plan that was imagined is coming to pass. And, yeah, it seems Trump has always been right.

They aren't avoiding the mass slaughters of war. They are purposely walking us into it. Illuminati tango with their insane notions of the Hegelian dialectic.

I am not sure about this. Pipeline was blown up a day after Norwegians opened a nat gas pipeline to Poland, at which point Poland and neighboring E. European countries don't need Russian gas any more (screamers EUROPE WILL FREEZE THIS WINTER! take note). Furthermore, reducing flow of Russian gas will make US/Arab liquefied gas more competitive. Thus, blowing up the pipeline benefits US, Poland + other E. European countries (as in screw Russia AND Germany at the same time, WIN-WIN for them), Gulf Arabs. For Russia, I don't see profit here unless they have gone completely stupid and batshit crazy, which can not be excluded.

Hence, it is somewhat likely that pipeline was blown up by either US, Arabs, or Poland.

Norway doesn't have enough natural gas to supply Germany. Poland, Finland, and the Baltics secured their supply.

Are you seriously claiming that the Russians blew up their own pipeline instead of just turning the valve to "off"?

This would take away their power to turn it to "on", and no state voluntarily gives up power, ever.

Biden bragged that he would shut off that pipeline, and it's clearly in America's interest, so it's definitely a "workable hypothesis" that DC goons did it just like they said they would.

Meanwhile, Europe their long time adversary, is going to be freezing this winter, the United States sent almost 2 times to Ukraine than what Russia spends on their ENTIRE military per year, foreign businesses have left Russia, they are supplying India and China with not only energy and fertilizer, a food supply crisis in the United States and Europe is becoming evident as assholes in each nation close down farms and are trying to convince us to eat bugs.

If Putin is stupid, and he might be, the leaders of the West are either drooling morons or, they are purposely destroying the West.

Germany has by far the largest natural gas storage capacity in Europe. The capacity is 256 terawatt-hours natural gas energy content. Gas turbines have thermo efficiency around 20-40%, so that 256 terawatt-hours natural gas energy content translates to 65-100 terawatt-hours of electricity. German annual electricity generation/consumption is over 600 terawatt-hours. So total storage capacity is about 1 to 2 months, that's counting electricity generation use only, not counting winter heating use of natural gas. The new Norway-Poland gas pipeline is scheduled to deliver about 6.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2023; that translates to about 60 terawatt-hours natural gas energy content. That's equivalent to another 1 month for electricity generation alone (and will have to spread out over a year for delivery). So combining storage and the new Norway-Poland pipeline (that can deliver in all of 2023) result in enough natural gas for 2-3 months of electricity generation for Germany. Where is the gas for the other 9-10 months going to come from? That's for electricity generation alone, not counting winter heating use of natural gas. That's for Germany alone, not counting Poland and Baltic states.

Europe didn't need Nordstream I if II was still operational, and the RUMORS I've heard is that BOTH pipelines were destroyed.

I don't see what people don't get. This was an attack not on Russia, it was an attack in Europe, and in a VASTLY smaller way, Russia. It doesn't really effect Russia, but it's going to drive up the cost of natural gas through the roof.

There won't be a food supply crisis here. This years crops are insane in the Midwest. Best growing season I've seen in my lifetime besides when I lived in Chicago and didn't witness it. We've had perfect weather, no hail storms, good mix of rain/sun/clouds. I've never had to mow my lawn every other day in the past besides May and it's not saturated either. I wouldn't worry about shortages here unless it's intentional.

Unless you survive on something other than meat, cheese and veggies, the US will be totally fine. Any shortage would be the result of people not wanting to work thinking Biden will hand out money.

Where did you get that Poland and Baltics will share this gas with Germany? It covers most of their gas needs, no reason to make Germans happy. Let'em eat green energy.

Analysts say the new Baltic Pipe should have benefits for countries beyond Poland.

"The Baltic Pipe will also be important for the Baltic States. They can receive gas through the GIPL — Gas Interconnector Poland Lithuania — the same way Poland has received gas from Lithuania since April," said Trine Villumsen Berling.

"The corridor is also suitable to transfer gas from Poland to the Danish market, further adding to the flexibility and security of energy supply in the region," the DIIS said an energy assessment published in July.

It highlighted Poland and Lithuania as having been in the forefront of calls for "greater unity within the EU and stronger sanctions on Russian fossil fuels".

"Although a number of strategic projects in the Polish and Lithuanian energy sectors are coming to fruition today, they are the outcomes of the two states’ long-term strategic visions of energy independence from Moscow’s grip," the report said.

That was also my thought. The Poles are no fans of either Germany or Russia, for good historical and geographic reasons.

Poland literally means something like "flat fields" and the country in an inviting target for tanks rolling in either direction, except in the mountainous south.
