Dogs are better. Try to go camping with a cat, or hang out at a bar with a cat, or go walking through a nature preserve with a cat.

Dogs are a LOT more work than a cat is, that's kind of the great thing about a dog. You must spend more time with them, and you must have more interaction with them. They are more work, but they are more joy as well. You don't even need to give a cat a bath, try that with a dog...
