I don't think people care about the next generation. I don't think they don't know, I think they simply don't care. Maybe our ruling elite is right to have utter and complete contempt for the average person. Maybe, the average person is just awful, with only a veneer of morality and decency.

So as you download a packet, you upload to two different peers, so that live video (delayed maybe by a minute) will be possible. I'm seeing live streams that I regularly watch on youtube being shut down - they are considered "news" oriented.

I can't say I watch anything on television today, but when I still bothered to tune into television shows, it was through the Internet, a VPN, and bit torrent.

I'll still throw an old episode of Star Trek (the original series), The Prisoner, or The Twilight Zone on - ironically, all of them were broadcast before I even existed. The newest things I will bother will are MST3K (Mystery Science 3000 - all over youtube anyhow), and The X-Files (early seasons).

I took a Haitian single mother to lunch.

I have done the torrenting sites but find the video quality to be very uneven. I normally have access to my collection of 6500+ titles of movies and television shows on DVD, but those are in storage and in a container waiting to be shipped to Spain as soon as done rehabbing my new home.

For the time it’s Amazon prime with Brit box and HULU and other streaming channels. Even those are rife with crap like African movies and African points of view. If I want to see an African point of view I’ll watch The Jefferson’s or Sandford and Son. 😤

Something I might work on one day as a hobby and charitable contribution of my codez is peer to peer / mesh networks. I love the idea of end users being able to spin up their own network, potentially connected via wifi, in both natural disasters, as well as opposition to oppressive governments and woke ISPs.

This would remove the ability to shut down websites via DNS blocking (because there wouldn't be any DNS) or via revoking SSL certificates (because there wouldn't be any SSL).

Traffic would still be encrypted, just via ssh encryption and not SSL encryption.

If each web page were signed with your private key, you would also have authentication.

And if your web pages were freely distributed in a reciprocal manner with other interested people, it would be very hard to censor all of the copies.

So everything would look like it's coming from unencrypted localhost, like:

The "hash of content author public key" would take a long ssh public key like:

And hash it down to, say, four English words like "correct.horse.battery.stapler" for something easy to remember.

There's not one new movie I would want to rent, or pay to see, there isn't a single television show I want to watch.

Somebody was telling me how awful and stupid the Star Trek Discovery was, so I just grabbed an episode (they briefly had a couple episodes on youtube to try to garner interest), and yeah, it's woke ideology and abysmal writing. The writers are truly horrible.

Back in the day when they made the original series, there were some SERIOUS science fiction writers that worked on that, and they certainly consulted people that new something about science. These new idiots, are just awful. They have a non binary character in this last year, and some other stupid shit. It's just terrible. It's not even so bad that it's good, but it amusing to listen people in various places just critique the shit out it. Imagine if the Ghostbusters 2016 kept getting sequels despite it being universally hated. That's what it's like.
