Consider this: Aside from Mariupol, the war in Ukraine has directly caused around 11 civilian deaths per 100,000 people every year since the Russian invasion in 2022. That is less than the intentional homicide rate of the city where Zarutska was murdered in August.

And Charlotte is far from the most dangerous place our young Ukrainian could’ve fled to. Detroit (32/100,000), Baltimore (35/100,000), San Juan (37/100,000), Memphis (48/100,000) and New Orleans (54/100,000) are all vastly worse. To put it as bluntly as possible – and with as little racial sensitivity as I dare – the U.S. black population is largely responsible for imposing on many American cities a civilian homicide rate equivalent to or far exceeding that seen in a modern country fighting a war on its own territory.

This fact has made the progressive American political establishment crazy, and they have developed an entire ideological system to avoid confronting this terrible, ruthless reality. They suppress stories of black violence and desperately promote quite rare and exceptional cases of white-on-black crime to invert the hated truths before them. When they are forced to acknowledge inconvenient stories like Zarutska’s murder, they insist that these are also the fault of white Americans because of things that happened generations ago and for which no living person bears any responsibility. All of this vile excuse-peddling, these blind rehearsals of antiracist ideological nostrums, and these unceasing, desperate searches for responsible parties and factors beyond the obvious ones – all these are psychological reactions arising from cognitive dissonance, finally sublimated into a quite pathological ideology.

The Charlotte authorities sat on the video for weeks. When it was originally released we were only shown edited clips. The first video we saw cut off just before the stabbing, jumping ahead to footage of Decarlos wandering about in a daze, blood spattering the floor, as Iryna slumped dead in her seat.

It is not only important that you watch that video. Everyone you know needs to watch that video, too.

Do not turn your face away.

You must confront this.

Look at her expression as the knife draws across her throat. The surprise, the confusion, the shock and the incomprehension and innocent hurt that pass across her face, the way her hand goes to her mouth, then covers her eyes in grief as the life pours out of her body, her last moments lost in abject loneliness as the final darkness closes in.

I want to you to put yourself in her place, to empathize with her, to imagine what it was like to be Iryna during those final moments.




Decarlos Brown’s half-brother is also career criminal with a rap sheet as long as his arm. So was their father. One cannot help but observe that if the father had been removed from the gene pool before he could spill his cursed seed, every single victim of his monstrous sons would have been spared.

Brown himself is an intellectually deficient schizophrenic vagrant who rambles on about ‘material’ implanted in his body that makes him do things at the behest of malign forces. To the American justice system, this means that he is incompetent to stand trial, and cannot be held responsible for his actions. Punishing him for his crimes would be cruel: he needs assistance, psychiatric counselling, medication, housing, welfare. Punishing crime does not address the root cause, we are told, and the root cause is of course purely socioeconomic factors.

Because of the indulgence shown to these animals, the warm ray of sunshine that Iryna Zarutska brought into the world is gone forever, never again to brighten the lives of her friends, her family, her neighbours’ pets, the elderly whom she cared for.

But we still have Decarlos Brown, Jr. Isn’t that a wonderful thing?

This, we are told, is ‘social justice’.

Iryna was not a racist. Silly creature that she was, as young women tend to be, she had a Black Lives Matter poster in her room. She no doubt went through her short life assuming the best of people and, being pretty and cheerful, it’s likely most people treated her well. Young, pretty girls tend to live in a bubble formed by the halo they emanate.




There are some people who have stated that we should not care about her death, because she had a BLM poster. That she got what she deserved, that, as we so often hear, ‘she voted for this’. These people are very stupid. She had these silly ideas in her head because they had been put there by evil men and women who have worked for generations to convince silly young girls that all good people believe such things, knowing full well as they do that silly young girls desire nothing more than to be thought good and can be made to believe any nonsense by manipulating this instinct. For this, silly young girls should be given a roll of the eyes and a pat on their silly little heads.

They don’t deserve to have their throats slit for it.

Iryna’s death didn’t match the narrative, you see. There was no confrontation. She was not rude to her assailant. There was not even the possibility that she might have said ‘nigger’ to her murderer, a blasphemy that all liberal bien-pensants agree is far worse than mere homicide. She was simply sitting there, quietly, on her phone, in her own world, going home, keeping herself to herself, only to be butchered by a madman whose simple mind had been packed full of racial hatred by the media. That is not speculation, by the way: after slitting her throat, he can be heard, in other footage, muttering ‘got the white girl’ to himself, over and over.

When the online explosion of grief and righteous fury forced the media to finally cover the story, they adopted the line that white people talking about the murder was the real crime, that it was part of a pattern of ‘egregiously exaggerated stories about black criminality’ (where I have removed the capitalization of ‘black’ that the AP style guide continues to insist upon, just as as it continues to insist that ‘white’ be denied such grammatical deference), and that the real risk was that it might incite retribution by white supremacists. ...

Iryna is not dead because Decarlos Brown was crazy. She is dead because, since the 1960s, American society has been held in a vice grip by subversive race communists who have undermined the judicial system, lied to the American people, viciously prosecuted whites in the courts of public opinion and law whenever members of the disfavoured race imagined that they had some sort of right to defend themselves, and filled the heads of blacks with racial hatred, all as part of a deliberate strategy to weaponize America’s negro population against it while rendering America’s white population defenceless against the relentless racial assault. ...

In the case of Decarlos Brown, as in all such cases, these systemic factors have names. First there is magistrate judge Teresa Stokes, who let Brown go without bail in January of 2025, following the most recent of his arrests.




I do not for a moment imagine that Stokes, Chin-Gary, or Archie care in the slightest that Iryna is dead, any more than the five blacks who were present for Iryna’s last moments. Blacks as a whole have shown no sign whatsoever that they are troubled by this. Here’s YouTuber ‘the amazing Lucas’ complaining that ‘they turned her death into a propaganda machine’, in which he says “I talked to 99.9% of black people about this story, and it’s horrible, I think we all agree on that, and they wanted me to give a message ... I’m here to talk to the white ignorants out there, and I want you to know, we are deeply uncaring. That is correct. We don’t care, bruh...” Lest you think that’s a one-off, here’s the official Black Lives Matter TikTok channel posting that “oppressed people have a right to violence, like they have the right to pee.” Iryna may have thought that Black Lives Matter, but black lives do not seem to agree that her life mattered.

Remember when Karmelo Anthony stabbed Austin Metcalf in the chest, and the black kahmyoonitay came out to shovel five hundred thousand dollars into Anthony’s GoFundMe? While taking to social media to claim that Metcalf had it coming because he laid hands on an innocent scholar who dindnuffin wrong, and besides which, it was raining outside and how dare Metcalf tell Anthony to leave a tent he wasn’t supposed to be in? This is how they think. Violence against white devils is not a crime in their eyes. It’s just a bit of sport, fun for the whole family.

Never has been. Don't use public transit. Even in a restaurant I'll request the seat furthest from the front door with my back to the wall if I'm in a place with a lot of blacks. Not joking. It sucks because the good black people can make really good food. Besides the food, I want to see the front door and whole restaurant.

Even in my honky town I'll get out at the gas station, start the pump, get back in and lock the doors. State highway runs through town, so there are a lot of randoms that stop. I'm always ready to start it up even if still pumping. The hoses are magnetic and will separate if you drive off. Just return your end of the hose after 20 minutes or so. Then they just snap it back together.

Good tip about the gas pump. My brother-in-law from Detroit told me that he always talks out loud to himself saying the craziest things possible when pumping gas in Detroit, just because of the danger of violence from blacks. He wants them to think he's crazy.

On Thursday, local North Carolina affiliate WBTV ran a story headlined, “North Carolina grand jury indicts man accused of killing Ukrainian woman on Charlotte light rail.” This time, murderous Decarlos Brown Jr., 34, is being tried in federal court, so the case is safely out of Charlotte’s local, hyper-liberal judicial cesspool, which created this whole disaster in the first place. (Thanks for nothing, dummies.)

As you surely recall, on August 22nd, a maniac brutally stabbed Iryna Zarutska in the neck, from behind, just before 10 p.m., while she was innocently riding home from her pizza parlor job on Charlotte’s ‘Blue Lynx’ commuter train (known by locals as the “murder express”). The human animal who killed her was a regular free-rider on the Democrats’ no-bail, no-justice train, having been arrested an unfathomable number of times and never punished.

The federal grand jury indicted Brown for violence against a railroad carrier and mass transportation system resulting in death (the federal hook), plus, of course, first-degree murder. An indictment does not determine guilt or innocence, it means the case can now proceed to a criminal trial, where evidence will be presented and the accused can raise any defenses. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the DOJ plans to seek the death penalty, which almost seems too merciful.

Brown has three court-appointed counsel, who have wisely declined to comment. His case is currently being overseen by a magistrate judge (i.e., not a real judge), which is normal, and his federal judge has not yet been selected. The court is certainly aware that this case is a lightning rod wrapped in TNT, and sticky blame is likely to explode all over any judge who doesn’t deliver justice.

In related news, this week, North Carolina’s NAACP chapter haughtily demanded that Democrat Governor Josh Stein veto the reform bill named after the slain immigrant, which instantly passed with overwhelming numbers in both state chambers. The NAACP’s stubborn opposition proves the old maxim that when you realize you’re in a hole, you should double down and dig even faster.

This next story was a touching addition to Iryna’s story. She doesn’t just have an ugly criminal justice reform bill named after her, but now something much more beautiful. ABC ran an article yesterday headlined, “Charlotte light rail stabbing victim ‘immortalized’ in name of butterfly species.” A new butterfly species was named after the 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, with the scientist saying this “timeless” honor will ensure she is “never forgotten.” The butterfly is now called Iryna’s Azure. The species, or genus, or whatever they call it, primarily flits among South Carolina’s brightly colored flowers in April, on light blue wings and a distinctive violet-blue tint.




This story shows how Iryna’s needless killing, the tragic waste of a young refugee optimistically seeking a better life, has reverberated through the American psyche with a profound sense of anguish and betrayal. Her brutal murder —senseless, public, and utterly preventable— casts a glaring light on a progressive era gripped by woke revolving-door anti-justice, where violent offenders cycle endlessly back into helpless communities without deterrence or accountability.

Who is the bigger threat? Beastly Decarlos Brown? Or the liberal judges who repeatedly released that deranged psychopath after each of his fourteen prior criminal arrests so that he could continue preying on us all? I’m just asking.

Her fate forces America to grapple with a bitter question: how many more innocents must be sacrificed at the altar of progressive policies privileging skin color over safety, and at what cost to the spirit and soul of the nation?

I prefer to see the naming of Iryna’s Azure as a sign of how deeply and personally Americans feel we have betrayed the young immigrant. Maybe her story will become the seed of a nation’s transformation. Just as a butterfly’s metamorphosis unfolds from darkness and confinement, perhaps our grieving country can also find a renewed commitment to justice and compassion for victims, shedding the ugly, constraining cocoon of progressive mania and taking wing in a new, vastly more beautiful form, soaring toward the light.

When I was a few weeks postpartum with my second child, I bundled us both up and waddled into the Fairfax County Circuit Court to testify against a man who had accosted my then-toddler daughter and I in a public bathroom while I was heavily pregnant.

When I arrived I was brought into a room with his other victims and found out he had assaulted a woman in the same bathroom. I suddenly felt I had been lucky.

The arresting officer who had also interviewed me weeks prior was clearly eager to do everything right to keep this guy off the street—he found additional witnesses, pulled surveillance footage, followed every step to the letter.

It was physically painful and difficult for me to even be there—trying to discreetly feed and soothe my two week-old for 6 hours on hard benches when we should both be home in bed. It was also terrifying discreetly breastfeeding in the same room as this monster.

When I finally took the stand, the attorney for the Commonwealth asked me if the man who was in the bathroom that day was in the room.

I paused, confused—because I knew what was going to happen next.

The courtroom had been packed all day but as case after case was handled, ours was the last one—now it was just the judge, court reporter, bailiff, the defendant, his lawyer, the Commonwealth attorney, and I.

The arresting officer wasn't in the room. The other victim and her husband had been given a new court date and sent home.

I adjusted my baby against my chest and looked at her as she repeated the question: Do you see the man you reported to police in this room today?

Why was she doing this? What was she doing?

I was sweating in my oversized cashmere nursing sweater and I felt prickles down my back. Everyone was staring at me. I'm not a lawyer. She asked me a question... and she was “on my side” so I should answer it, right?

I adjusted my baby again to give myself a free hand—and I pointed to him.

And just as I expected, his lawyer immediately pointed out there was nobody else present in the courtroom who it could be and therefore we had violated his constitutional right to due process.

The judge agreed. Hell, I agreed—but then I asked WHY hadn't the Commonwealth given me a photo array to choose from? Why did she ASK that?

Too late. It didn't matter that he was on surveillance footage entering the bathroom before us and pushing past us as we fled.

He was set free.

As I walked out of the court room the arresting officer spotted me from down the hall and ran over to me “Is it back in this courtroom? Is it starting?”

No, I told him, it's already over. He had been sent to another courtroom “by mistake.” He didn't even get a chance to testify. He looked horrified.

The Commonwealth attorney and “victims advocate” that morning assured us they were going to fight for us. They were SO SORRY this had happened to us. They were SO GRATEFUL that I had come to testify in my condition.

Instead they seemingly intentionally let the monster walk free.

It's been two years.

Yesterday he was released on bail for yet another crime—one of at least THIRTEEN he's committed since that day in court—including sexual abuse of a child under 15.

His arrest record from just the last 5 years spans four pages on the Virginia court website.

Look at how many women—and CHILDREN—he's victimized since that day.

Look how many times his victims have gone to court just as I did only to see him set free again and again and again.

This is NOT happening by accident.

This is deliberate.

I suspect that these kind of things happen more commonly than a lot of us think...things are bad and they will not change.
