Duckworth is the worst on that list. She's retarded. She got the job because she flew a chopper in a spot that was likely a retarded move. Risking other people. If she can pilot a chopper my 14 year old could do way better. Lost her legs. Can't speak coherently. Yet is one of my US Senators... thanks Chicago.

I didn't even know she was Thai and dual. Obviously I didn't vote for her, so don't blame me ;)

I don't think dual citizenship should even be allowed for anyone. Be a US citizen and call it a day. If you want to move back to your home country they have a system for that and you can move there. Renounce your citizenship and be an American or go home.

Not a huge fan of Ted Cruz either, but Canada is at least next door and 90% of the population hugs the US border. All the others though, if you're in a different hemisphere with dual citizenship, yeah you should resign or not be allowed to run. Go home or pick which country.

Birth is not the only means to gain dual citizenship. Antony Blinken, born in the USA, is a dual citizen.

Correct. Pick a country though. Former boss was Italian, US born, but got his Italian citizenship. Just move there dude if you want to be Italian even though you're born American. He spent 2 years getting it. He's like my kids can get free college. I'm told him he should just move there then. The process would have been easier.

I really don't get dual citizenship as a 3rd gen American. I'm not moving to Lithuania. No interest. Or Germany for my wife.

A FYI for PatNetters ... east Asian societies, like Thailand or Japan, do not recognize dual citizenship.

And thus, any Thai or Japanese running around with two passports, is lying to their home country. And if discovered, they will have their citizenship revoked once it's determined that they're a US subject.

Dual citizenship is bullshit and should be not be permitted for any elected person in the USA.

Anecdote: I know a Canadian from Quebec (so she sounds funny in English) who married a guy in LA and got American citizenship. Later she moved down to La Paz, Baja Sur, Mexico divorced the guy and got her Mexican citizenship.
She bragged about it on Facebook.
I believe she did it to avoid certain taxes or something in Mexico; but she also votes in the USA with an absentee ballot.
She's a never Trumper and expressed her deep sadness on Facebook; I was tempted to make a snarky comment but resisted the temptation.

There is no way to find out who has what citizenship unless they tell you. So outlaw it all you want they still can get it. But what good does it do for them on the US soil? They will always be treated as US citizens here and might not get US protection while in the country of their second citizenship. (The latter is not set in stone as it's known that sometimes US Dept of State interfered even for Green Card holders being roughed up by the gubmint in their old country).

Italy blankets the entire family. Mom, dad and kids regardless of who is Italian at all. They give away free college to everyone. They don't even have to move there, just have to be there for the education. Utter pain in the ass though.

Fact is these countries want American consumer dollars.

Regarding Rin, Japan I'd agree with. Not so sure about Thailand though. Japan doesn't mind visitors but you're generally not welcomed to stay for a long time. He's probably dead now, but one guy I knew lived there for a decade (Japan). He was isolated and not liked. Was professor and spoke English, so they accepted him for education. Did not gain citizenship, nor could have. He was also a massive drunk which I believe is frowned upon over there.

A bit of a misnomer, as he was a son of American diplomats working abroad. I suspect that India would not give him any sort of citizenship w/o at least one of his parents being an Indian national.

I fully support ending it BAMN.

Alot of people that are said to have dual citizenship don't have it. Bernie, for example, is not a dual citizen, nor Upchuck. Nor is Blinken.

Mexican1984 or CensoredPakiMan tweet it out and people think it's true.

"But they COULD get it" is BS.

Ireland, Italy, Poland, Greece, Spain, etc. etc. make it very easy for anybody who can show one ancestor can get citizenship fast.

Sure. But that Italian citizenship does bupkes for them here.

I know an airline pilot whose daughter has legitimate citizenship in Netherlands, France and USA because of his shifting around as pilot. Mom is Netherlands and USA by marriage and he is USA only, but his current crib is along the coast line of France.

Those kind of 'dual citizenships' are legitimate because of logistics. However, the 'conferred' or 'honorary' dual citizenships or (whatever the fuck they are) can be for the primary purpose of influence peddling, infiltration and apparatchik anointments and should be regarded as such.

For national elected politicians, they should be regarded as foreign agents, or should just go live in the country they espouse loyalty to rather than infiltrate our country.

Here, yes. My former boss was a cheapskate. He'd just send the kids over there for college. You don't pay if you're a citizen. He was an idiot, so don't quote me as that being fact, but that's what he told me. He spent two year getting it.

This is why I got out of real estate. Business full of bull shitters. 15 years of it. But he did show me his paperwork. I'm like "cool... hope it was worth the effort" in a smart ass tone. While I'm running the business go do the only thing you're good at and shit talk with people you can con.
