Damn, the robots are back, now slamming the site with pulses of robot activity:

Not sure why. Maybe it's indexers from search engines.

It's the last chance globohomo has to rifle though your website like the FBI scratched and sniffed Melania's underwear at Mar a Lago.

MAGA baby. We'll see if globohomo can pull off WWIII before the inauguration as the ultimate Bay of Pigs setup . . . .

I'm waiting for the Patnet 'Attack of the RealDolls', complete with Alexa spy kit. Will they knock at the front door?

Negative botswarms can be a sign of First Amendment hight status, because they think that you are worth the AI mobilization.

Is that Hillary looking at her yoga appointments?

I've called a temporary amnesty, unblocking the vast number of IP addresses that were crawling patrick.net:

MariaDB> delete from nukes;
Query OK, 322767 rows affected (0.011 sec)

If they start to impact performance again, I can put the ban back.

Patnet emails have stopped again. Maybe the AI collects them for analysis before disgorging them again. I have sent people documents in other contexts, and the people claim they haven't gotten them. I had to send them at least eight times before they went through.

The master controller AI censor bots must be out there flexing their microchips.

I guess we knew that our First Amendment street corner would get the bullseye eventually.

Wow, the robots all rushed back in:

The load was getting to be too high again, making the site distinctly slower, so I looked at at the logs. It seemed to be mostly ChatGPT abusing patrick.net by hitting it about 20x per second, grossly violating my robots.txt limit, which allows one hit every two seconds for robots. So I blocked ChatGPT alone, and performance recovered dramatically:

That's some crazy shit, not a complete surprise but crazy just the same. Frankly I think AI is overblown. It has its uses but it's where there's hype, disappointment generally follows

I haven’t a clue how you discover and adapt to these annoyances. After all, I live in a self imposed cave.

Finding things like that on websites was my job for most of my career.
