The pipelines suffered at least three major leaks, due to suspected sabotage.

Blasts detected near Nord Stream pipelines amid leak – Swedish seismologists

Scientists in Denmark and Sweden registered underwater explosions near the Nord Stream pipelines on Monday, when several major leaks were reported. Sabotage is now suspected as a key reason for the damage.

“There is no doubt that these were explosions,” seismologist Bjorn Lund with Sweden’s National Seismology Centre (SNSN) told public broadcaster SVT on Tuesday.

The Danish military released aerial footage of the leaks, showing large spots and visible bubbling in the water. Nord Stream 1 suffered two leaks northeast of the Danish island of Bornholm, while Nord Stream 2 was damaged south of Dueodde, a beach located at the island’s southernmost tip, the military noted.

Earlier in the day, Moscow said it has been looking into the reasons behind the leaks, suggesting the pipelines were targeted in an act of sabotage. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that currently “no option can be ruled out” on the causes of the incident.

The Nord Stream 1 pipeline was completed in 2011. Construction work on Nord Stream 2 began in 2018, and suffered numerous delays due to political pressure and sanctions from the US. The pipeline was finished and pressurized in September 2021, but never actually got online.

Two days before the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, the German government put its certification on indefinite hold, and has repeatedly rejected any suggestions, both domestic and from Moscow, to open the pipeline.

@socal2 You don't seriously believe that the worldwide recession is due to Russian energy do you? Remember how the whole world was shut down for a year or two to boost the profits of Pfizer? That is the primary cause of the worldwide recession.

Uh no, but to believe that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is having no impact on the global economy is ludicrous. Russia is one of the biggest energy exporters in the world! How could Russia cutting off gas to Europe have no impact on the global economy?

To believe that normal people are all propagandized to hate Putin for no good reason and Ukraine is run by Jewish Nazis is also ludicrous.

I think reasonable people on the Right can simultaneously believe that Russia was wrong to invade their sovereign neighbor, Ukraine is far from perfect but are justified in defending their borders against an illegal invasion, AND the Democrats are using Ukraine as an excuse for all of their bad policy results.

There is no grand conspiracy. Just a bunch of retarded politicians bumbling their way and often acting out of panic.

Was Trump all in on the conspiracy to plunge our world into a recession and provide Pfizer with record profits as part of the big "reset"? Trump was a big fan of the vaccines, took lots of credit for it and led our country into disastrous lockdowns.

Silly rabbits, the use of submarines (manned or remotely controlled) was necessary not because 70m is not diveable by Sean Connory (but not something to sneeze at either), but because any kind of diving-related surface activity would be easily detected and vessels traced back to the resposible party. The area in question is busy and is constantly under sattelite surveillance.

So what? Same argument as for buying shit from Chyna. Stop depending on other countries and return manufacturing to the US! Energy and manufacturing independence is fucking easy to achieve for a huge country so rich in natural resources like the US - we should not be depending on anyone. Trump showed the way briefly. Fucking Taiwan should be depending on us not the other way round, it's insignificant geopolitically. Time to reverse course and throw the leftoid and neocon bums out.

I don't disagree, but the prices of everything shoots through the roof with either outcome. Shaquanda on the South Side of Chicago having the price of her cell phone, car, etc. all doubled is and would cause unrest, crime and maybe revolt.

Not sure which company, but they are bringing some chip making back to the states after Covid. But I think it's still years from being online and functioning.

Fact is China is a our slave labor. Taiwan, Japan and S. Korea are the brains. Americans don't want to work. Our country isn't intelligent. Not everyone is dumb, but most of it is dumb. We're a service based industry country, that has a decent amount of resources, but don't want to do the manual labor that is required. Hell my wife makes more than engineers, doctors and attorneys golfing, taking people out to lunch and sitting at conferences. I don't consider it work, but good for her and good for me.

Point being we aren't going to bring "much" manufacturing back to the states. Cost of goods would skyrocket. Democrats won't allow it because Shaquanda from the South Side won't vote for them anymore because her iPhone is $2k now and the low grade 3 series BMW is $80k.

Agreed. Prices would go up, but so would income, and our trade deficit would disappear, the money would stay in the US and be mostly spent in the US.

China benefits bigly by this. Russia is going to need to sell their LGN somewhere to keep the war going. Hell to keep the country going.

Because Biden is a white liberal and Democrat, he gets a free pass on the Western stage especially among the Euro-elites and globalist community. So there are no repurcusions if Biden is evenly more than remotely guilty of that pipeline break.

China and India can rely more on Russia for energy. They may exploit this and get a discount but I do not think it may adversely affect Russia as much as the Democrats and Euro-elites / globalists hope it does.

I didn't say "no impact", but compared to shutting down the world for a virus with a 99.7% survival rate, it's no contest as to which was the primary cause by far. The US, for example, never imported much energy from Russia to begin with.

Have you ever read about Stepan Bandera and the Azov battalion? Why not?

Was Victoria Nuland right to arrange a pro-DC coup in the "sovereign" country of Ukraine?

Trump was taken for a ride by the virus and vaxx hysteria, like almost all other politicians. He should admit his error, but he never admits an error as far as I can tell.

I don't see that where I am in the Florida panhandle. People work at Eastern Shipyard, Berg Pipe, Ascend Performance Materials, etc.

They fill up most of the service jobs at fast food restaurants and are paying about $15 to start. The problem is rent is about $1.55 per square foot per month so you need a roommate to afford a 2 bedroom rental on the beach. Have to go north of the beach about 30 minutes away to get a rental that is $1.25 per square foot.

I see enough smart people in the USA such as at the college and university level. I see more automation such as even with picking strawberries using a robot.

I notice in Florida and also in Colorado more single family homes that are pre fabricated in a warehouse.

True, I read Russian oil was only about 5% of US imports before the invasion of Ukraine. Russia will just ship that oil to China and India.

@socal2 You are right to the degree that Europe was much too dependent on Russian gas, as Trump pointed out years ago, and that cutting off this gas harms their economy.

Who cut off Russian gas and Russian access to Western payment systems? Russia did not sanction itself.

Imagine for a moment that Russia managed to arrange a coup in Mexico to install a pro-Putin government and was sending arms to Mexico to fight the US. Would the US respect the borders of the "sovereign nation" of Mexico?

I'm not saying Putin is a good guy, but I am saying that his response was predictable and actually desired by the Biden administration.
65   EBGuy   2022 Sep 28, 1:21pm

A couple of weeks ago this is what Putin had to say...
Putin tells Europe: if you want gas then open Nord Stream 2
SAMARKAND, Uzbekistan, Sept 16 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin on Friday denied Russia had anything to do with Europe's energy crisis, saying that if the European Union wanted more gas it should lift sanctions preventing the opening of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
Speaking to reporters after the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Uzbekistan, Putin blamed what he called "the green agenda" for the energy crisis, and insisted that Russia would fulfil its energy obligations.
"The bottom line is, if you have an urge, if it's so hard for you, just lift the sanctions on Nord Stream 2, which is 55 billion cubic metres of gas per year, just push the button and everything will get going," Putin said.
Nord Stream 2, which lays on the bed of the Baltic Sea almost in parallel to Nord Stream 1, was built a year ago, but Germany decided not to proceed with it just days before Russia sent its troops into Ukraine on Feb. 24.

Guess that's not going to happen...

NS1 was not under sanctions. Nothing prevented Gazprom from shipping gas via NS1, not even that Siemens compressor which they got back from Canada. So the stoppage was clearly political and made Gazprom (and Ruscia) look like unreliable ass in front of his best friends - Germans - and Gazprom was liable to pay penalties for contract non-fulfillment. By blowing it up Putler gets to keep his "Europe will freeze" shtick, provides an exit to his German agents and creates force majeure to weasel out of paying penalties for non-delivery. Good old que bono.

The USSR was funding Marxist insurgencies in South/Central America over the last half century. They fucked up and set back huge chunks of Africa, Asia. Middle East and South/Central America. USSR/Russian "meddling" caused massive destabilization and poverty resulting in mass migration and drug smuggling into the US that has had far bigger impact on America in terms of drug deaths, homelessness, demographic/political change and and crime than the so called coup in Ukraine impact on Russia.

What tangible harm and risk did the Orange Revolution have on Putin and Russia to justify tens of thousands of deaths and worldwide turmoil? Losing a vassal-state (like losing Eastern Germany and former Baltic slave colonies) is not a legitimate threat to excuse Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Ukraine never made any claims about Russian territory posing a threat, they just wanted to be free of the sclerotic/Russian influence that fucked up so much of the planet.

It's pretty fucking obvious the US blew up the Nordstream. Why do you think the US has been in 20 FUCKING years of war in the Middle East? They are trying to cut off Russia's ability to export energy into Europe and at the same time steal energy from the Middle East to sell to Europe.

No, it's always been like this. This media needs to stick around to get the dumb fucking NPC's to FINALLY realize what they're controlled by. We're JUST on the cusp of being able to ridicule people openly for believing this garbage. NPCs are convinced not by the news media but by what they think is "the majority". Well, the MAJORITY of Americans realize that corporate propaganda is propaganda. Once we just start mocking the NPC MINORITY that believes in this shit, the "news" media will entirely collapse.

So, we don't want to take it away. It will just be replaced with NEW liars telling new lies anyhow. It has to be utterly destroyed, then buried, and not reformed. CIA wanted to do Operation Mockingbird, well, they did it, but they never realized that when they finally were successful in making ALL of our news media bullshit, nobody would believe it.

Yes - fighting against Marxism was right and just. Marxism was the biggest plague on humanity over the last 100 years. Hundreds of millions dead, families divided and societies stunted for generations thanks to this Totalitarian Leftist ideology. We are still feeling the ramifications today. The only thing more vile today is Islamism.

Comparing fighting Marxism on our borders in the Western hemisphere is not remotely "the same thing" as Russia is doing in Ukraine today.

Russia never paid the price for allying themselves with the Nazis against Poland and than carving up Eastern Europe for half a century after WWII..........let alone fucking up Africa, Asia, ME and South/Central America with Marxist insurgencies.

G-translate:

On 18 September, the Russian sailing ship Sedov (four masts, one of the largest of its kind in the world) left Kaliningrad.

On September 22 at 4.14 UTC, he showed his last position sailing towards the South-East coast of Bornholm.

After 15 hours, he showed up sailing south-west from Bornholm.

23.IX Sedov turns north

Currently, it is next to the NS2 crash site, and during the voyage to this site, there are again many hours (night) absences in the AIS system.

At the same time, the second Russian MIR sailing ship is sailing at a distance of 12 nm from our drilling platform Baltic PIpe

And around MIR, the US Navy flies its MH-60r anti-submarine helicopter

Yes, I remember those routes. 😉

Still, the issue is that we see only what has the appropriate transponder mode on on the FR24. There can be and there are probably many more actions.

The Russians use their large sailing ships MIR and Sedov (Sedov) for underwater special operations in the Baltic Sea and did it to sabotage the NS?

He's not doing anything the George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald J. Trump, and Joe "Robbin-it" Biden hasn't done, or is doing over the past 21 years, with us being forced to pay for it. Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Syria.

Nordstream I is gone - we're going to see people literally freeze to death in Europe this year. That's going to be a hell of a profit finally after 20 years of blowing up Libya, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. Finally, the pay off, but that payoff will NOT go to US citizens, it will go to a few select companies that are well connected to the US government, exclusively.

Of course our nation's economic system is fascist. Citizens pay through taxation for the benefit of corporations. We even bail out the banks after they engage in mortgage fraud to make housing unaffordable for the next generation. We are no longer human beings, were are human resources, to be exploited.

Denying what we're in means we stay in it. If you can't recognize a problem, no matter how obvious it is, there's absolutely no way you're ever going to address the problem. At least I don't play pretend. I'm not "see no evil, hear no evil", I see it and hear it, you play pretend, so you help doom us to MORE of it.

I can't change what Putin is doing, but I can make some attempt to stop what OUR nation is doing, you never will, you won't even acknowledge it.
