The pipelines suffered at least three major leaks, due to suspected sabotage.

Blasts detected near Nord Stream pipelines amid leak – Swedish seismologists

Scientists in Denmark and Sweden registered underwater explosions near the Nord Stream pipelines on Monday, when several major leaks were reported. Sabotage is now suspected as a key reason for the damage.

“There is no doubt that these were explosions,” seismologist Bjorn Lund with Sweden’s National Seismology Centre (SNSN) told public broadcaster SVT on Tuesday.

The Danish military released aerial footage of the leaks, showing large spots and visible bubbling in the water. Nord Stream 1 suffered two leaks northeast of the Danish island of Bornholm, while Nord Stream 2 was damaged south of Dueodde, a beach located at the island’s southernmost tip, the military noted.

Earlier in the day, Moscow said it has been looking into the reasons behind the leaks, suggesting the pipelines were targeted in an act of sabotage. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that currently “no option can be ruled out” on the causes of the incident.

The Nord Stream 1 pipeline was completed in 2011. Construction work on Nord Stream 2 began in 2018, and suffered numerous delays due to political pressure and sanctions from the US. The pipeline was finished and pressurized in September 2021, but never actually got online.

Two days before the start of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, the German government put its certification on indefinite hold, and has repeatedly rejected any suggestions, both domestic and from Moscow, to open the pipeline.

Not worth the risk for China. Also the USA has the best observational equipment and China could get caught doing that to an ally’s pipeline. That would be a political disaster for them. Nope, it wasn’t China.

China’s Russian gas imports jump in first 8 months, while LNG exports hit record levels amid supply diversions
China also exported a record US$164 million worth of LNG to Europe – including Spain, France and Malta – and another US$284 million worth to Japan, South Korea and Thailand in the first eight months of 2022. In contrast, Chinese exports were worth US$7 million last year.
...
Chinese energy companies have been reselling excess LNG to the international market to take advantage of the price difference between long-term contracts and elevated spot price following the Ukraine war.
...
The average LNG export price from June to August was almost two times that of the import price over the same period, according to South China Morning Post Calculations based on customs data.
...
In the first half of the year, Russian gas exports to China via pipeline grew 63.4 per cent from the same period a year earlier, said Russian gas giant Gazprom.

China living the Cheniere Energy (LNG ) dream.

I am just tired of Eric Holder's outright trolling. He doesn't do it on other topics. Not that I've noticed. Just when it comes to Ukrainian Nazis.

I also find it very confusing. Seriously, it feels like a kind of mind-control program that works on some people for reasons I can't explain. Can they even honestly explain it to themselves?

Putin is no worse than, say, Xi, but there is no hate for Xi among the same people. Why not?

I understand actual Eastern Europeans being afraid of Russia and therefore hating Russia, but Americans? It doesn't make sense.

One big corrupt country invaded a smaller but yet more corrupt country which was funneling money to Hunter Biden. Why do they seem to take that as a personal insult?

German Government Suspects Russian Gas Pipelines Were Deliberately Sabotaged

Lol, ya think?

I wonder if the Germans will turn against America and NATO when they realize that the US will literally let them starve and freeze in order to keep the war going in Ukraine.

If Russia wants to sell it's natural gas, it has to go through Ukraine and Poland now.

The war in Ukraine is just an excuse to starve and freeze Europeans to death. The scheme is similar to hiring Lenin (from Switzerland) and Trotsky (from NYC) to overthrow the Czar of Russia (the wealthiest monarch in the world at the time) and cause mayhem and 40+ million deaths in subsequent deliberately uneconomic regime allegedly following the writings of a Rothschild relative (Karl Marx), similar to hiring an Austrian (at least 1/4 Jewish therefore defined by himself not to be Jewish in his/national-socialist infamous Nuremburg Race Laws) to be the leader of Germany and start the most devastating war in European history so that people killed during the war and in the concentration camps would never show up at the banks to withdraw money, similar to hiring Napoleon (a Corsican Italian, speaking French with heavy Italian accent) to march a French army on Genoese and Venetian banks (with Italian armies melting away in front of it) so that the banks' books were "destroyed" and the banks never having to pay back depositors.

Ukraine, Baltic States, Poland and Romania saw enormous foreign direct investment in the past three decades and significant export earnings through their hard labor, and most of the locals have savings in foreign banks because their domestic currencies depreciated rapidly during high growth period (just like pre-WWII Germans, both more than half-Jewish Germans and less than half-Jewish Germans (frankly, after 400+ years of inter-breeding and 15+ points difference in original average IQ, it would be hard for any high achieving German not to have some Jewish blood), had vast savings in Swiss banks after German domestic currency hyperinflated a decade earlier). If Putin's army can kill them, the banks in Switzerland, UK and US don't have to pay them back. Likewise, if large number of Europeans freeze and starve to death, the banks don't have to pay them back and the promised retirement pensions / social security don't have to be paid. The clot shot is a real eye opener to how the nefarious banksters farm the general population.

Germans need to drill deep under their Ruhr coal beds for natural gas, and talk to the French and Italians about blockading Switzerland until the Swiss surrender their nefarious bankster terrorists for public trials.

As far as I can tell odorants are not required in these larger transit pipelines. They're usually added for distribution networks that go through neighborhoods.

I am pretty sure if Xi invaded Taiwan and caused tens of thousands of deaths in a ham-fisted and embarrassing military display holding chip markets hostage causing a worldwide recession (as Russia is doing with Ukraine and energy) - there would be plenty of hate for Xi.

Question is - will the Putin defenders/excusers be Xi defenders/excusers when the time comes?

Biden does not want Germany to try to make concessions for Russia.

So now Germany has to be more dependent on energy that is not from Russia. Russia does not have leverage as much over Germany.

Taiwan is a small island of no consequence to anyone in the West, this should be dealt with by countries in Asia and Oceania. It's the neighbors who must have a vested interest and drive to either resolve or fight in conflicts, th US and every country far away on the geographical map should stay away and mind their own business and problems, work on their autonomy.

Remember Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei stating he had secret meetings at United Nations General Assembly in New York City and that the meetings could "destroy America".

I wonder if this dealt with getting Germany and other Western European countries to make concessions to Russia in exchange for guarantee energy supply from Russia.

Biden may have attacked the pipeline because of reports that Germany was open to the proposition presented by Makei.

I just read that Makei met with Putin this week.

He cautioned the EU against going ahead with the Nord Stream 2 pipeline. No country should use energy as a weapon, Biden said referring to past episodes of Moscow cutting off gas supplies in winter.

@socal2 You don't seriously believe that the worldwide recession is due to Russian energy do you? Remember how the whole world was shut down for a year or two to boost the profits of Pfizer? That is the primary cause of the worldwide recession.

Yeah, for modern life to continue to exist as it has, Taiwan is hugely important. Good luck getting a new or used car WORSE than covid times if China makes a move. Car values would double. And that's just one industry.

Also with regard to NS pipeline break. Why is China not on the list of bad actors? I know Biden said blah blah. China benefits bigly by this. Russia is going to need to sell their LGN somewhere to keep the war going. Hell to keep the country going. When you cut off European demand, China gets cheaper LGN because Russia still needs revenue and it's not a shortage of LGN, Russia just lost a big customer in Europe. Plenty of supply and half the demand due to the break. Just a theory

Obviously the US benefits as we can ship it over to Europe and we have plenty of LGN. The USA breaking the pipeline though would piss of European allies. Risky move. Although outside of nukes there's not much any of them can do about it.

So what? Same argument as for buying shit from Chyna. Stop depending on other countries and return manufacturing to the US! Energy and manufacturing independence is fucking easy to achieve for a huge country so rich in natural resources like the US - we should not be depending on anyone. Trump showed the way briefly. Fucking Taiwan should be depending on us not the other way round, it's insignificant geopolitically. Time to reverse course and throw the leftoid and neocon bums out.

Uh no, but to believe that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is having no impact on the global economy is ludicrous. Russia is one of the biggest energy exporters in the world! How could Russia cutting off gas to Europe have no impact on the global economy?

To believe that normal people are all propagandized to hate Putin for no good reason and Ukraine is run by Jewish Nazis is also ludicrous.

I think reasonable people on the Right can simultaneously believe that Russia was wrong to invade their sovereign neighbor, Ukraine is far from perfect but are justified in defending their borders against an illegal invasion, AND the Democrats are using Ukraine as an excuse for all of their bad policy results.

There is no grand conspiracy. Just a bunch of retarded politicians bumbling their way and often acting out of panic.

Was Trump all in on the conspiracy to plunge our world into a recession and provide Pfizer with record profits as part of the big "reset"? Trump was a big fan of the vaccines, took lots of credit for it and led our country into disastrous lockdowns.

Silly rabbits, the use of submarines (manned or remotely controlled) was necessary not because 70m is not diveable by Sean Connory (but not something to sneeze at either), but because any kind of diving-related surface activity would be easily detected and vessels traced back to the resposible party. The area in question is busy and is constantly under sattelite surveillance.

I don't disagree, but the prices of everything shoots through the roof with either outcome. Shaquanda on the South Side of Chicago having the price of her cell phone, car, etc. all doubled is and would cause unrest, crime and maybe revolt.

Not sure which company, but they are bringing some chip making back to the states after Covid. But I think it's still years from being online and functioning.

Fact is China is a our slave labor. Taiwan, Japan and S. Korea are the brains. Americans don't want to work. Our country isn't intelligent. Not everyone is dumb, but most of it is dumb. We're a service based industry country, that has a decent amount of resources, but don't want to do the manual labor that is required. Hell my wife makes more than engineers, doctors and attorneys golfing, taking people out to lunch and sitting at conferences. I don't consider it work, but good for her and good for me.

Point being we aren't going to bring "much" manufacturing back to the states. Cost of goods would skyrocket. Democrats won't allow it because Shaquanda from the South Side won't vote for them anymore because her iPhone is $2k now and the low grade 3 series BMW is $80k.

Because Biden is a white liberal and Democrat, he gets a free pass on the Western stage especially among the Euro-elites and globalist community. So there are no repurcusions if Biden is evenly more than remotely guilty of that pipeline break.

China and India can rely more on Russia for energy. They may exploit this and get a discount but I do not think it may adversely affect Russia as much as the Democrats and Euro-elites / globalists hope it does.

I didn't say "no impact", but compared to shutting down the world for a virus with a 99.7% survival rate, it's no contest as to which was the primary cause by far. The US, for example, never imported much energy from Russia to begin with.

Have you ever read about Stepan Bandera and the Azov battalion? Why not?

Was Victoria Nuland right to arrange a pro-DC coup in the "sovereign" country of Ukraine?

Trump was taken for a ride by the virus and vaxx hysteria, like almost all other politicians. He should admit his error, but he never admits an error as far as I can tell.
