I'm still stupid. I have learned that everything I was taught about politics and history are likely false and I have been living in a world of bizarre, imposed delusions and misdirections. However, knowing you are stupid is a sign of progress (I hopium).

The problem is that the 'real histories' have been methodically hidden and it's hell to try to figure out what they were.

Haha - no, people who think they are smart are stupid, because they think they have nothing to learn. People who think they are stupid are smart, because they realize they have more to learn.

It's the Peter Principle. You'll always be stupid, all you can do is try to be less stupid. Ignorance is infinite.

I heard an interesting saying among the native Americans - "a lie has many stories, the truth has only one".

Remember, a lie is a fictional story - how many stories have you read or watched that didn't have at least ONE plot hole? When you find a story with no contradictions, it's POSSIBLE that's the real story.

I only look for lies - the truth - if it's possible to come to - comes much later. Most of what I hear I accept as being erroneous but there are people that try in real time. People who try to be correct often fall over themselves to correct their previous errors.

Let's see, I thought the Russian / Ukrainian war would be over quickly because of the war between S. Ossetia and Georgia - that was over in under 24 hours and other people I listened to thought the same. Now, I think it's going to be a long drawn out proxy war, because Russia sees it as a war between the United States and Russia, and Russia is just beating the US into submission. I predict this war will go on for years now. The Vietnam war literally bankrupted the United States.

But I could be wrong, I often have been. Hope I'm wrong. I don't care how this war ends honestly, I just want it to end. I'm tired of my nation being assholes to the world. This war didn't have to happen.

I didn't work with him, but a colleague did - he worked from home, and on his computer at home he had his webcam on, and at work at his desk, was a tablet this showed his face. If you wanted to talk to him, you'd walk over to his cubicle, and have a chat. He was always online while at work and he was always present at work.

I had that exact idea. Some years back I wanted to work from home but management didn't want to let any new employees have the privilege - only employees who were hired on as remote from years prior when remote was widely acceptable were allowed to do it. I was going to pitch that to my manager - I'll setup an always on video chat in my office so people can just walk in and talk to me without needing to do any junk like send an IM to ask if I can join a video chat or phone call etc...

I never did it though, and covid has allowed me to be remote for years now, although that will likely end soon.

If your job is sitting at your desk and typing on a keyboard, like my job is, why not? Perhaps you need to share your screen as well. It gives you a connection to work, and if you need to be in, go in.

BUT - I hate working from home. When I do this, it's not that I work from home, it's that I sleep and live at work. I hate "working from home".
