Since forever I paid $200-300 for prescription sunglasses, and I always was pissed off.
A few years ago I had cataract surgery (LENSAR=state of the art), and my vision was corrected; now I can buy sunglasses like normal people do.
I’m obsessed with them, and I have a growing collection.
I’m trying to avoid the expensive brands owned by Luxotica (Ray Ban, Persol, etc.)
I wore Ray Ban aviators for decades, but I hated the adjustment of the nose pads if I mistreated them.
Everyone in Florida on boats was wearing Costa, Smith, Maui Jim. I thought they were pricey.
I bought Knockaround Fort Knocks, Fast Lanes; Suncloud Milestone; Revo Lukee (eBay so $65).
I’m going to try O’Neill Barrel 2, Hobie Baja or Cabo. I think I want another Suncloud pair (Mayor)
I think with 7 pairs of sunglasses I should be good for a while.
I can’t go outside without them; on overcast days I wear brown lenses.
