Since forever I paid $200-300 for prescription sunglasses, and I always was pissed off.
A few years ago I had cataract surgery (LENSAR=state of the art), and my vision was corrected; now I can buy sunglasses like normal people do.

I’m obsessed with them, and I have a growing collection.

I’m trying to avoid the expensive brands owned by Luxottica (Ray Ban, Persol, etc.)

I wore Ray Ban aviators for decades, but I hated the adjustment of the nose pads if I mistreated them.

Everyone in Florida on boats was wearing Costa, Smith, Maui Jim. I thought they were pricey.

I bought Knockaround Fort Knocks, Fast Lanes; Suncloud Milestone; Revo Lukee (eBay so $65).
I forgot I bought Sunski Treelines too.

I’m going to try O’Neill Barrel 2, Hobie Baja or Cabo. I think I want another Suncloud pair (Mayor)

I think with 7 pairs of sunglasses I should be good for a while.

I can’t go outside without them; on overcast days I wear brown lenses.

It doesn't matter how much you spend on sunglasses, you will destroy them or lose them. I have few pricey models (serengeti, ray ban) which are good for driving. However, for knockarounds, I just scoop up cheap sunglasses from Goodwill, I have a ton of them around to grab.

Surfing, it's useless to use expensive brands, they all get lost rather quickly when a good wave hits you. I have el cheapos, and I have had people think they are expensive and ask what brand i am wearing on the water. I laugh and say I don't know, they were a dollar at Goodwill and they look a little chagrined.

I can never get used to wearing sunglasses. Feels weird. Like wearing a watch.

Sometimes if theyre really needed, like when driving into the sunset, or maybe if the sun will be very very bright, I'll wear them for for a short period of time, but I'm always glad to take them off.

What's your favorite Aviator? My kid found mine, played with it, and it's bent 5 ways to next Tuesday.

I saw Raldolph Engineering makes aviators but maybe even more expensive than Ray Bans.

I like the Sportsman with the “sweat bar”.

I like Ray Ban aviators and other ones they make.

I'm not a sunglass wearer but I can find times where I need Sunglasses. I don't mind wearing them, but they have to be quality, scratch resistant sunglasses.
So when I do reach for them, they aren't some hazy scratched up mess that gives me a headache. At the minimum, they need to stand up to funky breath and a shirt tail rubbing, standing in for a proper lens wipe and spray.

I found a brand I might try; BNUS
Amazon sells them; it says “Corning Glass” and “made in Italy”.
$66, might be cool to try.
I recommend sunglasses to anyone who is outside because of cataracts and other things like surfers get growing on their eyeballs, gross.
