WHO has documented 43 attacks on hospitals and other medical facilities in Ukraine.

The attacks are prohibited under international law.

A WHO official said the strikes are intended to achieve "the destruction of hope."

The World Health Organization has documented 43 attacks on hospitals and other medical facilities in Ukraine since the Russia invasion,

At least 33 attacks have involved violence with heavy weapons, meaning armed forces attacked using firearms, tanks, missiles, bombs, or mortars.

"The health system in Ukraine is teetering on the brink," Dr. Mike Ryan, director of WHO's health emergencies program, said at a press conference on Wednesday, the BBC reported.

Ryan described attacks on medical facilities as an effort to achieve "the destruction of hope."

Didn't exactly state which side attacked the hospitals. It seems the citizens report it is the Ukraine Nazis who do it in the spirit of false flag.

Aw cmon man, nobody is that cruel and evil that they would kill their own people to advance their cause. LOL

Explain how these Nazis are allowed to kill civvies while their fathers and husbands stand by with full-auto AKs in their hands.

Explain then how the russians are allowed to kill civvies while their fathers and husbands stand by with full-auto AKs in their hands. Isn't that the narrative?

Yes, most remarkable. And the former member states that wanted to stay aligned with Russia did. And those that did not, did not. That's the way it should be. Not under the threat of the barrel of a gun.

So remarkable that all the leaders of the old USSR instantly found cushy jobs in the new Russia.

There has never in the history of the world been a bloodless coup. I mean the current head of Russia is former KGB for fucks sake.

Interesting that a Communist Youth Leader and active Communist joined the CDU in two weeks after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the DDR. From Communist to Center-Right in 14 days.

Only to become Prime Minister of Germany - and her key energy policy was basically "Shut down all coal, no nukes, but nothing but Russian Gas and some overpriced windmills"

Her father, a Progressive Pastor, was one of the very few people to choose to go to the DDR from the FRG.

Make of this what you will.

Russians shot people who were standing in a bread line, one was an American guy.
Russians bombed a theater which was a shelter for civilians; in large letters “children” was written in the parking lot.

What people believe here is interesting; they are evidently unaware that the KGB basically has completely taken over Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

The attitude towards the West and Germany is hostile, and Putin wants to go back in time and control areas outside of Russia.

Putin lost the war and just dragged Russia down further.
27   Al_Sharpton_for_President   2022 Mar 18, 8:09am

Yeah, people are justifiably angry at and suspicious of the MSM which is garbage for sure. And so there is an over-reaction to accept the opposite of the MSM promoted narrative, which is a lazy and childish-petulant way to determine truth. Putin is a thug. He is an autocratic despot. Boomer politicians need to get out of the way and let new blood and new vision take the helm. The reality is, a lot of countries don't want the Russian brand. Thugs are lazy influencers, resorting to violence to force acceptance.
28   zzyzzx   2022 Mar 18, 8:14am

Supposedly the Russians don't have precision munitions, so it makes sense that indiscriminate shelling is going hit the occasional medical facility.

War propaganda gonna be really bad on both sides, that's expected. Winner will write theirs into history books. That's my prediction based on the ever repeating process in human history over thousands of years.

Remember how the United States waged a war in SE Asia, specifically Vietnam, in order to make the world safe for democracy? Well, we know democracy is a lie and it is really just a front for the wealthy to install thier minions without a coup. Well, there was a coup in Ukraine not so long ago, and the western oligarchs installed a government that would do their bidding.

I’m not condoning any military invasion but remember, the United States sent soldiers to fight in and destroy parts of Vietnam “to save it.” I’m not defending Putin. I’m just putting it into perspective. It would not be the first time crazy military commanders and/or commanders in chief destroyed a village in order to save it. Consider that Putin views himself the savior in this scenario, just as LBJ did back then.

I’m tired of hearing about this war, it should end. But the only way to end it is give Putin what he wants, unless you are willing to take him out. Taking him out sounds a lot like Iraq war doesn’t it? And it does not sound terribly different than what Putin is doing, in fact it sounds worse than Putin. Why not just give him what he wants? Ukraine can end this today. They are the only ones who can. It is the west that is making things worse by offering them aid. It will only prolong Ukrainian suffering.

Like I said, I don’t condone Putin’s actions. But let’s be honest here, he is holding all the cards. Ukraine has nothing but empty jestures from so called western leaders. They will never win on their own, because there is nothing to be won! Either the Ukrainian people with be subservient to the western oligarchs or the Russian oligarchs. Putin has decided he wants them to be subservient to the Russian oligarchs and has dared the western oligarchs to stop him. And all the western oligarchs have done is put forth sanctions that will be paid for by the working people of the west. This war, like all war is a war of oligarchs.

Remember when we fought for Freedom?

Then it was "Freedumb" and we needed to let the elites managed the New Green Economy, stop being Vaccine Hesitant, and embrace Civil Rights Education in CRT - and not to be Homophobic Transphobic Assholes and let them indoctrinate our kids.

Now with Ukraine, all of a sudden, it's WE NEED TO WORK FOR FREEDOM!

How about Freedom at Home?

Alsharptonforpresident is correct.
All of the guys in charge of Russia are former Soviet KGB.
Putin was brainwashed to hate, envy, and fear the West. He still does.

I sincerely hope that the Russians are hunted down and punished for shelling and bombing civilians.

Unlike some Putin apologists, I’ve seen a little bit of how it is over there.
The guys running the place are paranoid, it’s an old Russian custom.

What have you seen? Friends who lived there don't confirm this at all. Nobody is apologetic, this is a shitty war, but the economic and political quagmire is propaganda. Sure it's not on par with the west in terms of standard of living, neither is the Ukraine, but their life isn't bad at all. And standard of living has gotten better under putler, maybe not by much, but noticeable.

True, and yet somehow Rinat Akhmetov, Viktor Pinchuk, Ihor Kolomoyskyi, Henadiy Boholyubov and Yuriy Kosiuk are fantastically rich Ukrainians. When some people are that rich in a country that poor, really shady shit is going on for sure.

In its turn, on March 18, the Russian military officials claimed their readiness to release nationalists from Mariupol to save the city and civilians. The claim was also made by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev.

“We have officially appealed to the Kiev authorities and two days ago told them that we are ready to open humanitarian corridors and release all the bandits in any direction in order to save the city and people from these so-called martyrs, who have already glorified themselves with the explosions of a kindergarten, two schools, a maternity hospital and a drama theater building,” he said.
41   Patrick   2022 Mar 19, 12:47am

After the securing of the suburbs of the city by the joint DPR and Russian forces, the mass evacuation of civilians continues without any support from Kiev. Local residents confirm that Ukrainian nationalists opened fire on civilians. They also report that English-speaking specialists were correcting the fire of Ukrainian militants from residential areas of the city.

Maybe US advisors to Ukrainians?

Yes, this is from Wiki, caveat emptor.

"SouthFront (sometimes written South Front) is a multilingual website registered in Russia that "combines Kremlin talking points with detailed knowledge of military systems and ongoing conflicts... [and] attempts to appeal to military enthusiasts, veterans, and conspiracy theorists."[1] According to the European Union's EU vs Disinfo, SouthFront publishes news focused on "security issues, foreign policy, military analysis and reports on military hardware" while "loyally relaying whatever suits the Kremlin."[2]"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SouthFront?source=patrick.net

But the writing in the above links seems like typically stodgy and frankly ludicrous propaganda.

Are you saying that the United States and Russia are basically Lokai and Bele? That they are essentially the same?

Russia has acted a lot less barbaric in the last 20 years than the United States has, but that only may have been a result of resources. I remember the barbarity of the USSR.

Depends on how long the Ukraine thing lasts. If just a few more weeks, wouldn't be surprised if they try to pivot back to COVID.

Possibly. The thought has occurred to me that the "all the world is a stage" is quite literally correct.

And that wasn't the moral of the Let That be Your Last Battlefield, it was an allegory of current race relations in the United States at the high of some of the civil rights unrest. It was pretty good anthology series. We have nothing like that today.

Nope!

Let's say Russia/Ukraine is done in a week. Then for month after month it will be "oh those poor Ukrainians being occupied by the Russians", or if I'm totally wrong and it's Ukraine that wins it will be "Russia must pay for reparations! Putin must be held accountable for his war crimes".

This isn't leaving the news. This time next year, Ukraine/Russia of some form will be in our media.

The goal is to restart the Cold War or to make an excuse for the collapse of the western economic system. The only way it won't be talked about is if gasoline is $30 a gallon, and a stop at McDonald's is $100 for a Big Mac, medium soda, and fries.

We are doing nothing for freedom here at home. Our government and big tech and big media monopolies take freedom away here, I fucking hate it. We the people fight it, but we don't got the money or power to win. Truckers are fighting for freedom, Robert Malone, Steve Kirsch, Robert Kennedy and even DeSantis are fighting for freedom. I don't think anyone else prominent is. They are too busy trying to find ways to fuck us more for their profit.

They are still pushing all the gay shit into government schools, through federal funding grants. What school will say no to several million dollars in exchange for showing a few sexualized LGBT / CRT videos to children? They are thinking money before anything else. Teachers union is practically gobbling that cock, mentally high on delusions of inclusivity and diversity.

All militaries uses stores, schools, and homes to fight in.

So when Russian drones see a Kharkiv School being used to house Ukrainian soldiers - of course the school is closed to students/staff - and bomb it, the Media can have "fun".

Putting military equipment/people in and around hospitals is a popular trick, all sides in Yugoslav war, Ham Ass, Taliban, all of them do this shit.
