The boomer attribute which I don't share is some of them drank a lot more than I do

Prohibition was the worst thing a country/nation could ever do. I believe everything after that drinking wise got substantially worse as a nation. So I wouldn't put that one on the boomers, just the lobbyist of the time that made a law and everything after became building bar after bar after bar. Both of my grandparents owned a bar. Shit, seems like everyone did.

Every generation has their cohort of idiots for sure. Boomers made some advancements for sure, but I am with Richwicks on this. Boomers politically are awful. And they fucking won't leave and is why we need age limits on the top end for politicians, not just a minimum age (which I agree with). I personally just want them gone from government. Half can barely access an email account or type and this is who is mainly leading our nation?

They also brought about huge homes. That was 1,000% boomers. They changed housing in one of the most retarded ways I can imagine. I grew up in a 4,200 sq. ft. home (including basement), family of 4. 2,500 sq. ft. is the most almost any family needs.

Between housing and the internet, there's no disputing that boomers dropped the ball. Other advancements were made, so it's not all bad, but on a couple topics they did an awful job.

And before there is more Millennial bashing, we're entering our first recession since they came of age to start working around 2006. Not perfect, but that was a pretty good for almost 16 years. And I blame that more on the politics and policies of geezers for the current recession.

Ha ha ha ha. My inlaws live in a 4,000+ sq. ft. home. Just the two of them. Impeccably decorated inside, and impeccably landscaped outside. In a community of similar homes owned by similar boomers and pre-boomers. It gets them off. For those generations, I think it communicates that they have made it, and that they deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labors. If you are ever in Maryland, and drive around Potomac, a suburb of DC, there a lots and lots of McMansions, many done up as French chateaus, >10,000 sq. ft. Your tax dollars at work.

We're building. We could do 1M in construction costs if "wanted" but we're keeping it at 2,500 sq ft. and under $500k. Kids move out in 10 years and IL property taxes blow chunks. I hate that houses have become a status symbol. I'm good with expensive finishes, but I don't need much space wise. Bigger is not better. And yes that includes the bedroom;)

But seriously, boomers transformed housing to shit. They can get upset about it, but it's true. They fucked it up bigly. Having gone over hundreds of floor plans and been in thousands of homes, anything over 3k sf is egregious. Especially if there's a basement. 2 adults and 4 kids is 3k or under sf wise. And that's still extreme. Boomers with an only child though would build 4-5k sf houses though.

One guy I know took LSD sometimes I think in high school; he's not an addict (except coffee) and not a liberal nor a loser. I'm slightly amazed he took acid.

I would say I would trust genuine LSD from the 60's through 80's and I would say it was probably safer than drugs on the street today. .Including synthetic pot, most other drugs they could sneak fentanyl in.

How ever I would advise anyone against ever taking anything that someone claims is LSD today. No telling what it would be, or how much Fentanyl would be in it, it's like Franks Hot Sauce they put that shit in everything.

The problem with LSD is the dosing, as it was distributed by an eye dropper on to a sugar cube or paper squares. Never know if a drop fell on the square or a big floop fell on the square giving you five doses on one tab. Then you have idiots that thought well Two is better. On top of that extra loaded tab. I knew people who fried their minds from over dosing on LSD, they weren't all there.

I guess I'm both thankful and lucky, for number one, that I wasn't so stupid I took more than one, ever at one time. And number two, I didn't get ahold of tainted shit, or a dose that was over treated.

I took acid five times. I don't regret it, because if you want to know the balanced delicacy of your perceptions and strange portals of the mind, it will certainly educate you. There is no way to monitor what is real when you are on it except to come off it again. I still have a vivid memory of the shadow of my hair blowing in the wind at Stinson Beach became a writhing Medusa's head of flipping snakes.

However, it will put some around the bend. I still remember my dorm, a group in a shared room decided dropping acid every day was a cool thing to do. They were gone out of university after a quarter.

The last time I took it was at the insistence of a girl friend. My hippie roommate got me a small paper square. I took the tiniest corner I could for each of us to limit the trip, to no avail, the shit was strong and she went nuts. It forced her into rapid cycling manic depression where she would sob and cry like it was the end of the world and then start laughing hysterically and start running around. I was tripping myself and had to keep her calmed down until things dissipated, it was a total bummer from beginning to end.

I had another friend who would go into a bizarre near catatonic state on acid. He would just abandon all survival reflexes, not talk at all, and wander around staring at things for hours.

I've done acid and I've done shrooms. Don't do acid. At least shrooms are natural and not man made chemicals. This is my opinion of course. I only did each of them once. No need to do it again.

I just did mushrooms a little over a month ago for like the 30th time. Glad I did. No kids. No responsibility. I still always get nausea though in the first 30-60 minutes. I also had an edible. Was car camping and laid there for 3 hours during the heavy part. I don't hallucinate on any of that stuff though. More of a body/brain buzz.

I like acid better though, or at least the stuff I've gotten. I've done shrooms and acid at the same time. I drove too that night. I've done some stupid stuff, but knock on wood, I've yet to get into real trouble. That was the night I swore off cats, the animal. I was pretty aggressively attacked by one. Somewhat sober people witnessed it.

Legal weed here in IL has been helpful. The THC content is so damn high. The medical users have been able to grow for 5 years or so now. So they're getting their hobby down and growing some fire shit that is similar to mushrooms and you can carry it without legal issues. Mushrooms like acid can be iffy dosage wise. Weed is kind of you know what you're going to get type thing.

Mixing the beer in is the biggest issue for me. I have to sip the beer when doing any of that stuff. Like one beer every 2 hours. If I'm drinking with friends I have no problem putting 3 an hour down, but if I mix I've really got to be chill. The last mushroom experience I had drank all day rafting (12-15 beers), smoked, ate an edible and then someone brought out the mushrooms. I felt like shit for an hour for the mushrooms and then just floated in my car... lol.

I woke up at 5am ready to go. I'm kind of a freak. I can't recall my last hangover. 0 beers or 15 I feel the same the next morning.
