The whole idea that you should "update" software from Google or Apple so that they can "protect" you from viruses is ludicrous.
The point of the updates is to install the latest spyware to invade your privacy. They themselves are a far bigger risk than viruses.
Everyone should be running Linux. Problem is, there is no company behind it, so it takes some effort and most people are allergic to effort.
(Says the guy writing this on a Mac. But still, I do plan to get back to Linux laptops. And I never update my laptop.)

That kinda fits with what someone told me about Windows 25 years ago: it's not really an operating system, it's just a collection of drivers for proprietary hardware.
Hell, not sure I trust Ubuntu either. As I recall, they were quietly reporting user activity back to their mother ship years ago.

And then you get to ask them if they trust the NY Times! Win-win.

I am thinking that another old fellow around the corner may have died after getting the vaccine, but most lay people are terrible about reporting medical issues and information gets confused so who knows. He is claimed to be a Covid death.
