BUT: in Mexico, when you say you are "going out" you say you are"going to the street".
"I have nothing to eat at home, I'll go to the street and find something."
If someone calls you on your cell phone and asks "are you home?" "No, I'm 'in the street'."
Parent complaining to his teenager: "You're always out and about"="You're always in the street."
