A crackdown (not a ban as we already have a ban) would be a nice welcome change for the animals. But I would not ask nor lobby for it, because I remember what it was like to be a kid during "4th of July season". Boys will be boys. (sorry for the gender reference, Wokesters and SJW's).

Some people swear by marijuana treats for their skittish dogs. The stuff is expensivo, though, like $60 per small bag.

It's not that expensive in California. I have a friend that gets edibles sometimes. It was like $30 for a tin of like 30 - and that little chocolate candy, it's PLENTY for me. For a dog.. I'd have to cut it up into a quarter the size.

And if I really felt badly for my dog for panicking for a few hours, I would have just left town for a few hours. I used to go camping with them.

Look, just let them crawl into your lap on the couch, and put on a movie while you comfort them. They'll be, of course, fine, and really, it's rather enjoyable to be needed for comfort for a few hours.

The dog I had was absolutely terrified. He'd be shaking and burying his head into me, and all he wanted was comfort. All I had to do was pet him for a few hours, and frankly, I enjoyed it entirely. He was a big baby about it all, but he got all the attention I could give. It's enjoyable and sweet, cute and endearing.

Dogs are like kids, they are NOT kids, but they are similar. I enjoyed comforting mine.

China must make a ton of $$$ selling fireworks to US... imagine selling something to a person that they intentionally blow up, and no longer have... and China laughs all the way to the communist bank.
My Dog is scared of fireworks.
My Wife is not happy about them.

Of course! That's the whole damned point of having a pet! The whole entire point is to give them a happy life and I enjoyed doing that.

Some people definitely should not have fireworks:

Telling people don't celebrate July 4th because their dog can't deal. Is like chastising people walking down the street, because their dog goes ape shit and wont stop barking. Probably people who trained their dog with a quarter in a Pringles can, for shitting on the rug, instead of a stern slap on the rump with a rolled up paper, and a strong reprimand.

My Dog runs up to the area where the fireworks are being lit, then runs back with everyone else. And is the first one back at the platform after it goes off.
At least that's how he was on his first July 4th, we'll see shortly if he still fancies them as a 2 year old dog..
