Check out Mr. Baller here. Owns 4 restaurants, but probably hasn't touched a spatula in 10 years, which is also about how long the paint on the porch covering of his manufactured home has been peeling. Bold of him to record and boast of flouting workplace regulations and wage/hour laws. Hope it works out for him.
It's like going online and bragging about structuring deposits to fall under the $10,000 report threshold. Even if it's within the letter of the law, his video is just asking for OSHA, the labor board, and other agencies to crawl up his ass with a microscope to hunt for chargeable offenses. Smart money would quietly do this under the radar.
Commie Liberals must get the sads when they shit on everyone but we go on with our lives in spite of them. We just step over or around their heap of shit, they put in our path.
All Liberals do is shit stepping stones .It's all they've got really!

You folks ever see someone so proud our Agencies are infiltrated by commies and are weaponized against Leftie opposition?
You made the bullshit claim that he as "... flouting workplace regulations and wage/hour laws".
The "structuring deposits" analogy was exactly that, an analogy. Don't get bogged down in the map-territory relation here.
I can't speak for every labor board in every state, but openly boasting of firing employees for the cause of being vaccinated AND specifically to avoid an OSHA threshold may be within the letter of the law, but it's a strategically dumb move on his part. It WILL invite scrutiny, which may uncover chargeable offenses even if he skates on what he's boasting about.
"Structuring workforce size to meet a legal threshold" "Structuring deposit size to meet a legal threshold" It's not difficult. One does not need to agree with the agencies or their legitimacy, to recognize the risk/benefit equation is upside down here.
A "bold move, Cotton, hope it works out for him" meme is my last word on his action unless further developments arise in the story.
I don't get the argument here. Guy has a business, fires employees that he pays UE insurance for anyway. It costs him money. What's the problem? He's making a point and taking a stand. Good on him even if you think he's a hillbilly which I think is your roadblock on this post.
Just because he outsmarted the system and brags about it doesn't lead to anything else. And if it did he'd have a nice lawsuit, hence why nothing else will come of his video.

Why are you a hater?
Missed that part. AE, you should be happy that guy owns four restaurants and employs 100+ people. If he's not doing that, you'd be supporting those on the street employees via state and federal taxes, and paying their welfare.
We're slowly being forced to take a vaccine with a year of research, but you can still go to jail for decades for having a couple pounds of pot that has no evidence of ever killing someone via consumption. Let that soak in. Big Pharma is a legalized cartel. Convince me otherwise.

What everyone seems to keep missing despite me pointing it out clearly and repeatedly: WE ACTUALLY AGREE ON ALL OF THE ABOVE and more regarding covid and business regulations. Yet you're arguing this like you're addressing someone who's all-in for the vaccines, restrictions, Biden, and the rest. Thus, you miss the mark with me, and spin your wheels acting like this guy is a genius for posting this video.
What if this is actually a disinformation or honeypot post, to populate a database of business owners manipulating their way around the (stupid) vaccine mandates? Can we agree that posting a video like this is pushing one's luck with authorities, even while we agree that the mandates are wrong, the vax is actually dangerous, and it would be an overreach for said authorities to set up such a thing and use it to enforce compliance with vax mandates?

You denigrated the guy which makes it pretty obvious your personal opinion of the guy.
You denigrated the guy which makes it pretty obvious your personal opinion of the guy.
If I was acting on disliking the guy and that was my sole motivation for what was written in the thread, then the goal of letting him and others like him come to harm would be for me to simply STFU and let his stunt possibly go viral. Kind of like the old movie trope where the villain of the movie gets caught in some soon to be lethal dilemma, and a priest comes upon the scene, observes what is unfolding and that he could prevent it by trivial intervention, but instead rolls his eyes heavenward and casually strolls away while the bad guy pleads and screams with impotent rage.
He DOES remind me of douchebag bosses I worked for as a young entry level worker, so I mixed in some generalized ad hominem in my first post.
Can we agree that posting a video like this is pushing one's luck with authorities, even while we agree that the mandates are wrong, the vax is actually dangerous, and it would be an overreach for said authorities to set up such a thing and use it to enforce compliance with vax mandates?
Didn't even watch the video. There's enough evidence that Covid is mostly bull shit and being over blown X10. I've given up on listening to anyone based on how I live. Follow the fucking science. We may agree on parts of covid, but it's all a fucking joke. There is no science.
Will people get sick? Yes. WineHorror just had to deal with his parents getting it. So the government's solution is because WineHorror's parents get sick I need to wear a mask, not travel and get vaccinated? Hoping I'm not making light of his situation, but that's literally what is happening. I'm forced to do things for something that won't kill me. My dad died of cancer after a fucking miserable battle. More will die of that annually over covid. It's called priorities. Covid is a joke. It's not political. It's LESS deadly than most influenza strains across the population. Whatever.
He DOES remind me of douchebag bosses I worked for as a young entry level worker, so I mixed in some generalized ad hominem in my first post.
No ad hominem. Let's not get into arguing about arguing. You're jealous you don't own 4 restaurants. Let's just call this what it is. Likely the fact of him being a hillbilly ups the jealousy. Own it. Sorry I'm direct, but be a man and admit this has nothing to do with covid. I deal with this daily with other people in person that are jealous of my family. You need thicker skin.
And I don't mean that as an attack. But that's what it comes across as, jealousy. Go out and own 4 restaurants and hire the employees he fired. Otherwise your above comment is just pure jealousy.
Can we agree that posting a video like this is pushing one's luck with authorities, even while we agree that the mandates are wrong, the vax is actually dangerous, and it would be an overreach for said authorities to set up such a thing and use it to enforce compliance with vax mandates?
Can we agree that firing employees who are vaxxed is a win win? It gives those fired access to unemployment benefits and a new job ( there are tons of new jobs available out there), and it is assymetrical warfare whereby the business owners are able to continue to employ a hated minority (the unvaxxed) while saying fuck you to this fascist administration.

I'm sure he didn't fire them, they were probably just disemployed or dismissed ...maybe discharged or furloughed.
Like here, where you make up your own story about my motivations then make the rest of conversation about you.
Jesus, this has to be an Iwog alt account. It's HIS fucking business. He can do what he wants. Your opinion doesn't matter. This is what's fucked up about some Americans. He can run his business however he wants. It will cost him money. You should be happy and not care. The hillbilly will lose money.
OSHA doesn’t have such compliance yet. That was just Biden’s bluff as I understood
I wanted to give him a chance. I'm not partisan. I lean right/libertarian, but do have some liberal views. Biden has been an epic failure so far. Likely to go down as the worst POTUS ever. He can't get a consensus to get an infrastructure bill through, which we do need and most agree, because the Dems are adding pork barrel shit to it.
We're supposedly a first world country and we've had a major highway bridge collapse in MN a decade ago. How many are on the brink currently? Stop fluffing up the god damn legislation and get it done. I hate the spending, but this is something both parties could agree on and should stop with the bull shit pork/bribes to get votes.
Your opinion doesn't matter. This is what's fucked up about some Americans.
This is the guy who literally goes, "I didn't watch the video you're talking about. (writes 2 rambling paragraphs in his fifth post not about the video in the thread posted about the video.)
For the record I respect AE and welcome his perspective. There's no Left view point left on this site. We don't have to agree with him, and can expect that he will spirited oppose what he doesn't agree with as we do with him. We need people like him, to bounce our curious question off of. "What in the Fuck are they thinking for doing (X)?"
I'm just glad he's not nasty and attacks people like he has an axe to grind.
We all know he's going to stick to his guns, so it's a moot point trying to twist his arm to get him to say "Uncle!". Just glean his perspective and leave it at that.
Let's don't go there. AE has been here for years long before the Duck left. Also the Duck's argument style was projecting things you didn't say into the argument, in his responses, like you did say them. The duck would demand a source for your own thoughts. He was the king of non sequiturs.
This is the guy who literally goes, "I didn't watch the video you're talking about. (writes 2 rambling paragraphs in his fifth post not about the video in the thread posted about the video.)
Yup, and I did watch the video. How would I know the guy was a hillbilly? Just because I said I didn't watch the video doesn't mean I didn't watch SOME of the video. You can read the comments how you like, but the reality is different. I'm not going to say I watched the video if I didn't watch the whole thing.
For example, if I watched 15 minutes of Ghostbusters, I did not watch the movie. So I said I didn't watch the video, even though I did for a short period. Doesn't mean I don't understand the topic. Also, every thread on this site or any site goes off on a tangent. Not sure that point.
I clearly hit a nerve and you've yet to actually explain what is not legal about this. Arguing about a discussion is the worst thing one can do, you're doing it. Tell us why it's bad and on what legal grounds this restaurant owner is doing? There's no law saying this guy cannot do it currently. Hell, it's not a law that CDC, FDA, OSHA or whoever can enforce what Biden wants. It's all bull shit and you're defending bull shit. Congrats.
I participate in numerous forums, some with the same members going back in time before 9/11 to observe the same individuals and engage their thought processes and politics over time and through countless current events. Many of these spaces, especially the business and industry ones, are mostly populated by conservative Republican types. Every variant of political compass quiz I've taken over 20 years has consistently fallen slightly lib-right of center. Yet, the standard of right wing behavior, across platforms and decades, has been to assume I'm coming from the farthest authleft corner. They engage in heavy ad hominem and bullying, and in virtually every one, drive away almost all members that don't offer them unconditional positive regard, resulting in right-wing echo chambers with no counterpoint. I have strong frame, ego in some level of check, and am nothing if not one persistent mofo.
We don't have to agree with him, and can expect that he will spirited oppose what he doesn't agree with as we do with him. We need people like him, to bounce our curious question off of. "What in the Fuck are they thinking for doing (X)?"
Very serious question, that I ask every reader to bring their best metacognition to bear upon: WHAT FEEDBACK MECHANISMS DO YOU EVER EMPLOY TO KEEP YOUR PERSPECTIVES GROUNDED IN REALITY?
Oh fuck, my man. Speaking of metacognition and self-feedback. You said you did not watch the video and wrote paragraphs across numerous posts ITT anyway. Then I called you out on this, so you wrote two MORE paragraphs in response how you DID watch the video, and are honest and no liar, then conclude with more feminized SIGN language claiming it's all because YOU hit a nerve, while you ignore that I already said way upthread that it doesn't MATTER if it's not legal, it invites official scrutiny he doesn't need, whether we believe such power and scrutiny ought to exist or not.
Your writing, and presumably the logic and thought processes that underly it, lacks internal consistency and ability to remain on topic even within the same thread. Metacognition and openness to feedback, my man.
I already said way upthread that it doesn't MATTER if it's not legal, it invites official scrutiny he doesn't need, whether we believe such power and scrutiny ought to exist or not.
Then WTF are you commenting on? If it's legal, who the fuck cares? No one will scrutinize him. You're making assumptions that because he lays off 30 people or whatever the number was, while kicking in UE benefits that someone would care in government. He'll probably get sued and will be a net loss. I honestly don't get where you're going with this.
This is a private business owner. Why do you care so much? It's legal and if he gets scrutiny, who cares? It's legal. Run a business, scrutiny happens daily and you deal. Stop arguing about the topic and explain what your issue is. Your first comment on this thread added nothing to the topic and now you go after other users.
I posted some subjective opinion about the man in the video, while remarking that the course of action he was choosing may have unintended consequences. Why are you trying to gatekeep this off the forum? Your far-authright-corner position is showing.
I worked for mostly small business owners for over 15 years before starting and running my own business for the last 21. I've seen A-B testing of taking a belligerent stance with the various agencies that regulate businesses, versus working with them in a professional manner. It's the same as immediately cussing out the cop who pulls you over versus being polite and cooperative. No matter how right or wrong you are with the law at the moment, or how you feel about the legitimacy of their authority to have pulled you over under the circumstances, everyone with any sense knows some ways of handling this will get you back on your way in less than a minute, while others will have the same person in the same cirucmstances detained for a long time and cited for petty but acutal infractions or worse.
Like the guy who shows up randomly every few years to inspect the tank of my air compressor for internal corrosion. I've seen business owners cuss them out and try to run them off. Yet they serve an important role that everyone must work with for the safety of themselves and literally everyone in their neighborhood. Even the steamboat ride at Disneyland has the same PERMIT TO OPERATE AIR PRESSURE VESSEL conspicuously posted under glass where it is readily visible, that we large compressor owners must maintain. Failures are rare, but a "small" 120 gallon tank at 180PSI is much more dangerous to the neighborhood than a Hamas missile purpose-built for destruction. You can cuss the guy out and try to run him off, or you can facilitate him doing his job and he'll be in and out of your life in under 5 minutes.
I wrote that him posting this online was strategically foolish and may well lead to unwanted scrutiny. Your position appears to be that his post was NOT foolish and that it OUGHT NOT lead to unwanted scrutiny.
I posted some subjective opinion about the man in the video, while remarking that the course of action he was choosing may have unintended consequences. Why are you trying to gatekeep this off the forum? Your far-authright-corner position is showing.
I gate keep nothing here. I'll be blunt and said you made a moronic statement. Next level will be this is an "echo chamber of right wing racists." It's like clockwork when you hear something you don't want to hear. The guy laid off or fired employees legally backed by a conviction he's legally able to enforce. You disagree. Great, change it instead of bitching about it. Keep doubling down on wrong thought. Not sure what else to say.
So you are saying no we can’t agree that firing the vaxxed is a win win?
Sure there may be unintended consequences, and yet if people are unwilling to stand up and take some risks we will all safely find our way into a slow death of tightening restrictions until we can’t buy or sell without taking the mark of the beast.
