Despite all the problems, SF will always have appeal to to the geographical location, weather, landmarks.
The masses will continue to come from around the world.
I am not so sure....
Even the touristy areas have turned into shit-holes with aggressive drug addicts and homeless people accosting people.

I've been going to SF for over 20 years for work and used to live in San Jose back in the mid 90's. Even before the COVID quarantines, it was striking how shitty the City has gotten in recent years.

San Francisco is the modern day Gomorrah. Economic disaster isn’t enough. It should be wiped out with fire and brimstone.
And your car will be broken in, guaran-fucking-teed. Especially if it's an obvious rental.
I've seen cars with the windows rolled down and a sign "nothing valuable in this car, do not break the windows"!
Nearly one in twenty San Franciscans work for the city.
Another good quote from that site about SF:Nearly one in twenty San Franciscans work for the city.
SF is a shitty place. It thinks it's Boston's west coast sister city but it ain't close.
It's a place of dubious (& overpriced) cultural value and full of pretenders, along with bums & thugs ... that last bit is not too dissimilar from Philadelphia.
And no, driving to Reno/Carson City NV for the cathouses is a huge waste of money. In contrast, the French-Canadian strippers and escorts, 5 hrs north of Boston in Montreal QC are awesome!
All and all, as for large size cities, really, Boston's the last man standing as many of America's cities have gone to hell in a basket including now Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, Philly, DC, NYC, LA, etc
I think it's better to hang out a small town like Madison WI or Burlington VT (1 hour from Quebec).
San Diego is pretty nice.
Wait, they just figured out what is being shared in in that article??

By the way Boston is a shithole in many areas as well, I don't find it much more appealing than SF.
You keep saying that
Edit: Fuck it, I'll never go to NYC unless it's a layover to somewhere else where I don't have to leave the airport.

He keeps saying that, because he recently committed big bucks to purchase a home here in the Bay Area.
Denial is the first of the four stages of grief.
It's an inconvenient truth but most if not all Caucasian Americans would love to turn back Sunnyvale into the 70s, 80s or early 90s, the times of Atari or the movie wargames.
SF: went from obnoxious hipsters, computer nerds, and alternative lifestyle perverts to shitholier than thou.
