...of course, the MSM were mostly white boomers back then:
They are the worst most incapable generation this nation has ever seen. The press died under their watch.

I tend to agree with this. I know we have boomers here. I don't dislike individual boomers, given that's the age of my parents and a lot of people I know. But overall I think history will see them as a failure of a generation. They've fucked up a lot of things, not just media. And again, I'm not talking about your average Joe boomer before a boomer gets all pissed at this comment. Your own generation likely fucked you over as well.
BoomersHad the misfortune of reaching their formative years during the chaos of the cultural/sexual revolutions of the late 60's, early 70's and many simply dove in and never came up for air, bought everything negative about it. Shack up instead of marriage, rejection of the mostly Protestant/Catholic/Jewish faiths in which they were reared, were ready for all the ABC (anything but Christianity) cults that sprang up in the 70's, mostly in California--est, primal scream, rolfing, I'm OK, You're OK nonsense, and probably the biggest one of all Scientology, and of course the exploding drug culture took a lot of them out and still does to this day. What you're exposed to in those years usually stays with you and influences you for the rest of your life. A huge number of serial killers are Boomers or close to it: Randy Kraft ('45), Ted Bundy ('46), Randall Woodfield ('50), et al.
richwicks saysNo, they were from the Silent Generation.
Ted Koppel and Eleanor Clift both born in 1940. George Will 1941. Yep. Silenters.
richwicks saysHere, want to hear what I think is an excellent intellect from the silent generation?
Who do you think is peppering PatNet with TS quotes? :)

Al Gore made the internet.
richwicks saysKenji saysAl Gore made the internet.
Al Gore is a boomer. Born 1948.
Marc Andreessen was born in 1971.
These were the Generation Jones that did Gopher, and co-developed Mosaic.
Tim Berners-Lee 1955
Eric Bina 1964
X did most of the creation of the infrastructure. They also developed broadband. They also created ip telephony.
Anyone have the energy to explain my post to this guy? I'm tired.

I remember Al Gore's quote "I took the Initiative in inventing the Internet".
He said this when he was running against the sociopathic liar George W. Bush.
Al Gore actually...
No he didn't probably actually win the presidency in 2000?
I don't care to argue it. It doesn't matter if he did or not. Bush's ascension to the presidency destroyed the Bush dynasty. Hillary later destroyed the Clinton dynasty. If Gore had become president, I'm not entirely confident that would have happened.
I'm generation X
Boomers [...] are the worst most incapable generation this nation has ever seen.is divisive.
If you need an enemy there are a lot better asshoes in the world than baby boomers.
Boomers fucked over the country though negligence
So it costs 6 times yearly salary to buy a house now? It was only 2-3 in 1970, and 20% down.
That is the source of the entire issue - the causal acceptance of debt. If all house and car purchases required 20% down we would have far less debt and see far more affordable homes and cars. Right now, with excessive mortgage interest, all that economic benefit is sucked up by the bankers.
How the fuck is that guy still in politics? And a supposedly viable candidate for POTUS?
