It doesn't matter how good the kitchen is either!!!
The foreign real estate Potemkin 'buyers' are often shills, and are just reeling in the suckers. Don't think of what you get for your money. Think of how hard it is to get there, political stability of the country, strange laws and unique local corruptions, whether you need an armed compound for protection, whether you can get to a competent hospital if you are sick or injured, and if you can sell the damned thing after you buy it.
The people are so clueless and also picky, they are always exceeding their stated budget, and in Mexico, you don’t really own it if you are near the coast or the border.
They have an impossible dream of making a living there, but the show ends before they get into that.
Then others and the same thing, crazy. A couple of guys were planning to buy a place in Barcelona for a million bucks (40% down), neither spoke Spanish, etc.

I’m fascinated that they have such a desire to buy something where they can easily rent; those guys putting down $400,000+ cash are nuts. They could spend $1300/month for airbnb anywhere they wished, and keep their money.
One of my favorite hotels costs about $500/month, but it’s not fancy and it’s in Mexico not Barcelona.
Addendum: When an older lady and her daughter were looking at vacation condos in Puerto Penasco, the voice over kept calling condos “their investment” , yeah sure.
