Skeptical because of the 97% rating which was “spoiled” by one reviewer from Scotland or somewhere who thought it didn’t have enough action or was boring or something. And then a million Leftists hated on the guy for leaving a “meh” review and ruining their 100% fresh rating. Is this a movie you can’t dislike without being racist? Anyone seen it yet? I’d be fine with it if it’s actually good. Seems like SJW territory right now tho.

I dunno. The Lexus ad is a hoot. The actress playing his sister sounds and looks like a ninny, and so the ad is a turn-off and perhaps unintentionally hilarious.

Huey Newton does a cameo and loses a hard-on contest to Michelle Obama.
14   MisdemeanorRebel   2018 Feb 16, 8:37am

White People shouldn't see the movie this weekend, lest they take a place of a minority being inspired by an all-black film.
15   CBOEtrader   2018 Feb 16, 8:43am

In the blowback after the 1st less that 100% positive review, SJW's suggestes white people not review the movie. Whites cant grasp the importance of a black film.

So cringey...
16   Shaman   2018 Feb 16, 12:28pm

If white people arent to see it, I’m guessing the film won’t do that well. Who honestly looks to alienate 60% of your potential audience at the start?

It’ll probably do fine. Plenty of loyal Leftist whites and nationalist blacks out there will see it. I doubt many Asians or Latinos will have an interest.

The worst part of the review scandal is that we can’t even know the quality of the film because the reviewers are intentionally biased!
17   georgeliberte   2018 Feb 16, 1:00pm

White People shouldn't see the movie this weekend. Ok. I will wait to see it for free from the library if I still feel like it.
18   WookieMan   2018 Feb 16, 2:24pm

I'll catch it when it comes out on streaming services. Who the fuck goes to the movie theater anymore? Especially for this movie? This one ain't worth my token 1 time a year movie appearance, that's for sure.

"This banal comic-book blockbuster follows Democratic-party ‘politricks."

Are Blacks realistically portrayed, or are all the women very slender?
22   Ceffer   2018 Feb 16, 3:33pm

I heard there is a sequence where Southern Belles dance and swirl in their gowns, and then at the end simultaneously remove and pelt Black Panther with their sopping wet panties, begging for his boner.

Turns out Wakanda is ruled by a conservative nationalist who doesn’t want immigrants! Black Trump? And the villain is a BLM dude who wants black power?
I may have to see this film.
The Breitbart review is overwhelmingly positive!
26   Shaman   2018 Feb 17, 6:14pm

I’m gonna go see it. I’ll let you guys know what I think.
27   Shaman   2018 Feb 17, 10:53pm

Hahaha! Ok so the direction and cinematography was great, the actors were a who’s who of top black actors, all delivering great performances, which really brought the movie up. There were a couple token white guys, one a villain, one a somewhat bumbling good guy.
But the movie itself was about this question: “what should a superior civilization do about poor and backwards peoples in the world?”
They outright rejected refugees, saying “refugees bring their problems with them.”
The film rejects the idea that the nation’s wealth can be redistributed and thus bring up the rest of the world also.
And the main villain wanted to make it a race war, arming black people worldwide with superior technology so they could kill the “colonialists” and take over. So the film rejects that notion too, and most violently.

In the end, the only conclusion the film accepts is to have missions or outreaches to show people in backwards lands a better way, and share some tech. And they establish the first one in ...
wait for it...

Oakland!

Ahahahahahahahah! This film is a sneak attack on Leftist values and communist ideas! It’s the anti-BLM movie of all time!

I sat there and grinned.

Is that how you think blacks will interpret it?

Not at first! But over time they’ll start to consider the themes... This movie is the biggest Trojan horse of our modern times!
30   Ceffer   2018 Feb 18, 10:37am

That would make it a very clever movie. Somehow, it's hard to give smarmy, PoliCorrectWood that much credit.
31   Tenpoundbass   2018 Feb 18, 10:45am

My friend called me and said he's taking his Nephews to see it.
I told him that's nice, and asked him to let me know what he thinks of it.
I didn't poopoo it or inject any of the political reviews on it that I heard. I want his honest black man's opinion.
He said he watched the Trailer for it, and said Ah Geesh another bad acting Star Wars.
I'll see if he calls it an Alt Right movie after he sees it, or if he gushes what a Civil rights movie it is.
My guess is, he'll just say it's a bad movie and all of the subtle politics will go right over his head.
This isn't the first Blacksploitation movie ever made.
32   Goran_K   2018 Feb 18, 10:52am

I’m waiting for Marvels inclusiveness movie “White Wizard” featuring a white hooded hero that saves the day from his home base in Hicksville, Alabama.

Blacks still think Black Panther is a “black created hero”. Someone should tell them the whole character and universe was invented inside the head of a white Jewish guy.
34   Shaman   2018 Feb 18, 11:26am

Stan Lee had a cameo in it
35   Ceffer   2018 Feb 18, 11:40am

How about a caped "HonkeyMan", the super hero who can't jump.
37   anonymous   2018 Feb 18, 7:02pm

I have two good friends who saw the movie and said it sucked. One of them is also black.
38   bob2356   2018 Feb 18, 7:35pm

Black Panther is boring. It managed to be more ponderous and plodding than bladerunner 2047 which is a high bar. Does anyone in hollywood know what the word editing means any more?

I'm curious what you mean by leftist. The Democrats, for example, are as or more right wing than many of the leading "right wing" parties in other developed nations.

What like the Greatest American Hero or something?
42   Tenpoundbass   2018 Feb 19, 3:59pm

Can we get back to reality on this Black Panther thing?

I'll be the first to state the obvious since the Media is a Chickenshit

Ticket prices have never been more expensive as been the case for the blockbuster record breakers the past decade. They raise the price of admission when a new blockbuster comes out so they squeeze the revenue to claim they are record breakers. Notice it doesn't go by attendance, just dollar amounts, which Refreshment sales also count.
My friend that said he was taking his two nephews and wife, just told me he ended up dropping $200 for everything. He said he spent $57 on the tickets, and about $140 on refreshments, drinks and other junk items from the refreshments.
He said that's the last movie he will ever go to.

Yah the tix were spendy: $38 for two. But I sat my ass on leather that reclines with plenty of room to either side, eating my corn and sipping my IPA (Lagunitas Little Sumpin’) while daring the movie to entertain me in 3D. Probably spent another $35 on refreshments, but that included two very nice brews and a double glass of Pinot for my lady. Overall an enjoyable experience!

Not going to watch because it's a racist movie, not a Marvel movie. I've watched most of the super hero movies that have come out, but this one isn't about super heroes. When people stop being so racist, and stop focusing on color, then I'm interested.

I haven’t seen it but friends that are more right leaning than me(and both minorities) have said it was fantastic and not political in a way that bothered them.

That said, these always going to be racists. You can’t eliminate/outlaw human nature and human thought without an extreme totalitarian govt involving reprogramming and other insidious abuses.
