During the campaign, Candidate Obama promised over 15 times that Healthcare deliberations would be open, honest and on "C-Span" for all to see.  He wanted this to be public so that in his words "you'll all be able to see who it is that is being influenced by the big insurance companies."  C-Span has publicly reminded President Obama about his promise and has made available to him and the Congress C-Span's air time on a "24/7" basis.  A full one sixth of our economy is being negotiated behind closed doors amounting to approximately $2.5 Trillion annually.  Is this what Candidate Obama meant by hope, change and transparency?

Funny thing. I've noticed our dear liberal friends haven't posted any response. Wonder why? Maybe they've all overdosed on Kool-Aid .... or .... they're having a prolonged fainting spell?

I don't consider mysefl a liberal (I know, compared to Ray/Honest Abe/Zippy/Bap middle of the road seems like a pinko...), but I'll answer. I'm disappointed that he wasn't able to follow through on his promise. I, for one, would like to see Nelson or Lieberman try to make their case on camera.

It would probably degenerate into a soundbite fest though with everyone playing up for the cameras... And no work would get done.

The post was simply a partisan troll, and nobody felt like playing. Now you don’t have to waste any more time wondering why.
With all the extra time you have not that you don’t have to wonder why, I suggest you study about the US government, paying particular attention to what the three branches are and what they do. Once you have mastered that, the whole CSPAN question will magically answer itself.

what he said.

Oh, OK, I get it. It's a separation of powers issue. We need to believe here that politics is not playing any part. President Obama is the leader of his party that controls both Houses and yet, he has no clout to have these deliberations on C-SPAN in order to fulfill his campaign promise made over 15 recorded times. If he wanted real transparency, he could simply state that he will not sign any bill that is not subject to public scrutiny. But then again, he also campaigned on the promise that he "will not sign any bill that contains earmarks." We all know what happened to that campaign promise. It ended up in the same place where all the other campaign lies are. You’ll find the “it will be a top priority of my administration to renegotiate NAFTA” promise in the same trash can.

It is a fact that Obama has proven himself to be a typical lying politician. Unfortunately, the Nomo's of the world would argue that the sky wasn't blue, if the contrary was stated by someone he views to be at the opposite end of the poitical spectrum.
