Wife's doing the Chicago marathon and it will be my first time in down town Chicago in almost 8 years (not airports). I'm legit slightly freaked out and I worked there for 15 years. It's a shit hole. Then there's inflation. Fucking $1,400 for two nights for an average hotel. Most hotels are worth $600 for two nights. I've stayed in a 2 bed townhouse type unit at the Westin on St. John, USVI for $1,700 for 7 nights. Pinkies up type island. It's a retarded to run a marathon in a crime ridden city. Want to support the wife, but I don't want to go. I'll suck it up.

And yes, Rock is correct. Blacks need white people at a young age is the biggie. No one wants to say it though. No famous or rich black didn't have a white influence on them. Both. She's always been athletic, but a marathon is stupid physically. Especially for women. Running is awful on the body. Knees specifically. Chicago is a known commodity. Dangerous.

She's doing one of those Ragnar events next week(ish) out in CO. We've hiked at elevation, but she has no fucking clue what she got into. Being a flatlander at low elevation 99% of the time and then running 20 miles plus at 6k feet is brutal. I had to sit for 15 minutes at the top of a 11k foot mountain just to get decent breathing snowboarding. She's only been to legit mountains/elvation 2-3 times and most of that short times. Now throw in running.

I love to hike. Fuck running at elevation.
