I bet "Uncommitted" still would have been the winner in many elections. Ironically RFK Jr. stood a good chance of mobilizing the vote, but they used lawfare mumbo jumbo to not allow him to run, and even announced there were no Primaries. Yet they have gone on to have Primaries with just Biden and a few obscure unknown people only known in the state they are on the ballot.

The party replacing the assumed candidate at the convention, is usually very bad. It means going against the will of the voters, that did vote for him in the primary. In this case, Biden has been shielded from an honest race in a primary. So the replacement wouldn't have even been vetted by the voters wants.
They just randomly pick someone, or in this case prep them in secret for a couple years, then just hoist him onto the ticket. How many times has the media tried to huff up fluff by touting someone as the new hot shit for it just to fart out without as much as a whimper?
For a successful ticket replacement they would need to pick someone goes against everything they are trying to protect. They don't have that candidate. Unless they picked RFK Jr. He might do the trick.
But I think replacing Biden with Newsome or anyone they predict might be the choice, will make an even worse showing at the polls than had Biden just stayed on the ticket.
