Does this mean another 'designed to fail' Green Energy project won't get it's front end money laundering feed to the portfolios of implicated politicians?

Doubtful.

Conclusion:

It matters nought that you have massive renewable generation capacity if you can’t store power for extended periods. So you can have all the wind and solar farms you want, but without fossil fuel or nuclear back up you’ll need to buy a good supply of warm blankets and candles if you don’t want to be spending a lot of time shivering in the dark.

Didn't we already learn this in Texas in the not too distant past?

While I do agree with the conclusions, I do wonder what, if any, alterations to the houses involved to make them more energy efficient. That would made a noticeable difference. You still would not be able to drive an electric car during those time periods when there wasn't enough wind and sun as well. As far as I can tell the only viable storage mechanism is pumped storage hydro, but even that isn't going to work everywhere and have very limited capacity.

Well, there is always a return to whale oil.
