It was first reported as a heart attack. The drowning part was the media trying to do spin control on the Clot Shot deaths. While most folks can and do ignore the athletes and people they don't know. The coroner has updated the death status to an inconclusive status, while they investigate more. Meaning, they probably didn't find water in his lungs.

With enough alcohol or sedatives or pain pills you can drown in a hot tub with ease.

Off the subject, I was binge watching Anthony Bourdain shows; it's fascinating how many times he made references to killing himself.

Drowning can only be determined at autopsy from water inhaled into lungs and matching the water the drownee was in at the time. The time from death to announcement is too short for that to have happened, so bogus in that regard.
However, as GNYD says above, slow cooking to death in hot tubs is not unheard of for the intoxicated and passed out. He was a chronic relapser for severe alcoholism and drug abuse, so there's that. The vax angle might or might not be eclipsed by the drug and alcohol use.
