I was not clever enough soon enough to contribute a lot of dough into my HSA. I recall driving over to the Los Gatos, CA Fidelity store just before filing my taxes a few years ago.
I bought a stock mutual fund, Contrafund, for capital appreciation.
Fidelity issued me a Visa debit card linked to the HSA account.
To use the card, I first went to Fidelity.com and hit the button "trade". (Vanguard, T.Rowe Price have 'buy/sell")
I sold a little of my Contrafund to put cash in the account; then I just paid a dentist over the phone.
Calling Fidelity is great, if you can find their toll free number; it's hard to find on their website.
Artificial intelligence recognized my phone number, then asked "how can I help you" then recognized my voice and immediately I was speaking to a human at Fidelity!
It's great to use stock market capital appreciation gains tax free to pay some bills.
I tell all of the receptionists at dental or medical places to buy a Roth IRA and an HSA at Fidelity because there is no minimum investment.
