Why the fuck are these people waiting in lines that take multiple days in their car to get through, if they get through at all, when they can hike through some spot not near a road and avoid checkpoints completely?

I guess they heard the stories leaking out of Ukraine that things are not going well, and they don’t want to be cannon fodder.
Evidently the Russian soldiers are making cell phone calls back to their families.
I recall when some guys split the USA for Canada so they would not be sent to Vietnam.
