In-N-Out Burger’s Chief Legal and Business Officer, Arnie Wensinger, is set to release a statement after the San Francisco Department of Health closed one of the Top California Burger Restaurant’s locations.

“Today, the San Francisco Department of Health closed our restaurant…” he wrote. According to Wensingers statement, In-N-Out Burger employees were allegedly “not preventing the entry of customers who were not carrying proper vaccination documentation.”

Beyond the famous California institution’s location “properly and clearly” posting signage to communicate local vaccination requirements, the SFDH has attempted to require In-N-Out Burger employees to act as health police and enforcement personnel for the city.

He explains, “After closing our restaurant, local regulators informed us that our restaurant Associates must actively intervene by demanding proof of vaccination and photo identification from every customer…barring entry for any Customers without proper documentation.”

Wensigner opened up further in the statement saying they are committed to the highest level of customer service & making all feel welcome.

We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government. It is unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant associates to segregate customers,” wrote Wensigner.

I'm gonna buy me an In-n-Out t-shirt.

This could turn into a great signaling device or meme or whatever. Plus a way to show continued support for a business that makes a courageous choice. I am picturing customizing it with a Sharpie message "Let's Go Brandon" to drive the point.
I have to drive an hour to get me a double-double but I think I will pick up a T as well.

The shirts are available online. Both new and old designs, going as far back as early 90s.

Yep. My local pizzeria has a sign requiring customers to be vaxxed before entering. They lost my business.

Tell the owner. Tell them loudly in front of all their customers.

That makes for a great fantasy play, but IRL you really have to manage optics carefully when doing this, so as not to make yourself and all of us skeptical of the covid vax get lumped as "Conspiracy antivaxx nutter" and dismissed with annoyance.

The people inside have already bought in to that store's requirements (however reluctantly), so "some guy having a public freakout at the door" isn't going to change any of their minds. Think in terms of addressing their self interests and winning their trust and buy-in to your point of view.

Saying something loudly might be one's only and best option, but what you say and how you say it during these opportunities makes a huge difference toward successfully resisting bad mandates.

I would be tempted to get a Sharpie and write something like FUCK OFF, NAZI across a sign like that

No one likes wearing a mask. Bet.

I went maskless (as I have ALWAYS DONE everywhere I go) into a drugstore in Montgomery County Maryland about a month ago. The manager interrupted my phone call to tell me, not ask me, to put on a mask. I said "who says I have to wear a mask?" He said Montgomery County. I said fuck Montgomery County and fuck you. He followed me and commanded me to put a mask on. That was it, I went full fucktard. Called him a fucking Nazi and to fuck off. He couldn't believe I called him a Nazi...he was an Indian (Dot). I said, what, you think Nazi is only white? He ended up agreeing that the mask is bullshit. The drugstore didn't have what I needed so, I eventually left. Plenty of people were in the store at the time.

I guarantee if more people did this, no one would bother to approach a maskless person. Why do you think we saw all those videos about a year ago of maskless people being yelled at? It worked to get most to comply. I live in the bluest part of Northern Virginia and I've NEVER worn a mask into a store or restaurant. Well, one restaurant...it was my wife's and my anny.

Had In N Out tonight.it was delicious.

If you haven’t had, it’s quite tasty. The go to is th double double with 2 patties and two slices of cheese. All burgers are standard with lettuce, tomato, onions, and thousand island.

Personally I like the single patty as it comes, and add
pickles and grilled onions, neither of which are listed on the menu.

This is the owner:

This is a double double:

None of that shit in Anne Arundel or Baltimore Counties, and I think even in Baltimore City I don't wear a mask in stores (not completely sure since I don't shop in Baltimore City much, even though I live there). Montgomery County is like California when it comes to politics, so expect them to be retarded. I'm so glad I don't live or go to Montgomery County any more!

My meal of choice forever was a #1 animal style with a chocolate shake. With dietary changes, I now skip the bun(protein style), which caused me to have to go up to 3x3. Now looking at cutting out the shake, and I think I'll have to move up to 4x4, animal and protein style, with fries.

UPDATE: Pleasant Hill In-N-Out Burger Shut Down for Repeatedly Defying COVID Health Order
Contra Costa County health officials said that In-N-Out restaurants in Pinole and San Ramon have also received notices of violation for this health order violation. On Monday, the San Ramon location received a $250 notice of fine.

I’ve eaten In N Out twice since the notice of the first SF closure.

My normal for in n out is once every 2 or 3 months, but I’ll up it to once a week as long as California cities seek to pursue this bs.

Also FWIW in regards to in n out as a company…they’ve always paid more to their employees than other fast food places. They also have provided benefits to employees, even pre Obamacare, they are well known for hiring younger people and promoting almost exclusively internally.

They are not publicly owned. Lynsi Snyder is the sole owner snd I also really like her notion that it’s a family and US cultural icon and she is never selling. I hope when they are of age her kids take over like she did.

They’re a responsible company and their stance against government forcing vac mandates makes me like them even more.

This is not a one time fine and then the Nazis go away. This is a start to progressive fines that increase significantly with every future violation. As in 2nd violation. $500, 4th violation $1,000 and so on.

Yep, and the way these types of laws tend to be written, after the third violation and fine, they shift the case to the city attorney's office and get to work on an Order of Abatement for the business, meaning the business is no longer considered a going concern and the clock is now ticking to either correct all violations to restore the business license or to vacate the property.

They will vacate, just like they did in SF. Funny thing is: their San Ramon location is literally 1 freeway exit from the county line. They can easily move their restaurant right over the border and continue catering to the same clientele.

You don''t get it yet - the Federal government will just hand out money to them.

Cities don't care about small businesses. This is why it was so damned important to put in Biden as president, it's why they were so openly cheating - they HAD to cheat. If Trump were president, Sand Francisco, LA, Chicago, and NY would have already collapsed.

I'd rather have 2 regular single patty burgers and keep the meat to bun ratio in balance.

We went to In-N-Out in Mountain View yesterday just to support them, but damn, the drive through line was like 40 cars long, so we walked in and ordered.

I waited inside with no mask on. No one bothered me about it.

It was pretty good, and less than $12 for a double double or me, a burger for my wife, and an order of fries. Surprisingly cheap.

They were advertising $19/hour to start and had 11 guys or more scurrying in the kitchen. They are raking it in and I'm happy for them.

And we really enjoyed the food. Probably shouldn't eat that every day, but once a week is fine.

Let's go Brandon!

Kind of astonishing that a San Fran paper would even question the authoritarian left.

BURGER BOSS IN-AND-OUT CONTINUES TO THUMB NOSE AT CALIFORNIA VAX MANDATE

In-N-Out Burger in California apparently isn’t requiring proof of vaccination, fines be darned.

According to an “investigative report” from CBSLA Ch. 2/KCAL 9 in Los Angeles, In-N-Out didn’t request proof of vaccination for indoor dining, as required by California law. It stands to receive fines of up to $5,000 if anyone with a bigger say in things than CBSLA finds out.

Not that In-N-Out burger necessarily cares. It can afford to break the rules as one of world’s most noted burger chains.

Anyway, back to the report.

CBS political reporter Tom Wait visited multiple In-N-Out establishments on Tuesday “and found that it was business as usual, despite the fact that burger chain could face fines,” the station’s website reported.

Why a political reporter is doing an exposé on a fast food chain, we shall never know. But Wait, there’s more.

“At no point, during any of the visits to five different locations, was Wait ever asked to show proof of vaccination, not while entering the restaurants, while ordering or even while sitting a table indoors,” CBSLA wrote.

Of course, Wait wasn’t really uncovering anything new. In-N-Out released a statement two months ago saying it would not honor the mandate and that anyone — vaccinated or otherwise — would be free to eat inside whenever they wished.

“In-N-Out Burger strongly believes in serving all customers who visit us and making all customers feel welcome. We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government,” the statement read.

CBSLA reported that In-N-Out did not respond to a request for comment. Perhaps because it has already made its stance clear. It’s not the restaurant’s fault that some TV station that probably almost folds every four months is just now finding out about it.”

“You have the right to eat here or not,” CBSLA quoted a presumably satisfied customer as saying. “It’s their business, not ours. It’s up to them.”

I've eaten there twice now with my wife, just to support them for this.

We're going after running some errands this evening. In n Out will be just fine without SF or LA, but SF and LA will be in burger hell.
72   EBGuy   2021 Dec 28, 3:53pm

Glorious. Ate indoors in Marin without having to show anything to vax police. Hats off to the good folks at In-N-Out (vs. say Burger King in NYC, Yikes!).
In other news, In-N-Out heiress loses money on used home sale. I think she'll be all right...
In-N-Out heiress Lynsi Snyder sells Bradbury mega-mansion for $16.25 million
The city of Bradbury just saw its priciest sale in years when Lynsi Snyder, owner and heiress of the In-N-Out Burger chain, sold her Mediterranean mansion for $16.25 million.
It chalks up as a loss for Snyder, who bought the nearly 19,000-square-foot home from former Dodgers star Adrián Beltré for $17.21 million in 2012. She first flipped it onto the market for $19.8 million in 2017 before dropping the price to $16.8 million earlier this year, records show.
73   Misc   2021 Dec 29, 10:01am

Yep, Snyder sold her house. I bet she's gonna do a Musk and leave for Texas.

Just a loss of some more tax money. Probably pull the headquarters too.
