NuttBoxer saysWhy haven't more business's said the same?
Well for one, a condition of having accepted "covid relief grant money" is following all laws, rules, and orders related to covid; otherwise that grant becomes a loan, due and payable right the fuck now.
It's because there is federal funding for business's to push these mandates.Automan Empire says

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—Leftists are outraged this week after a burger chain in San Francisco refused to discriminate against certain customers, instead treating everyone with equal respect and serving delicious food to all.
"We can't allow restaurants to serve unvaccinated individuals, as they are not actually human and therefore not entitled to human rights," said local human rights activist Xander Zinfandel. "We believe this to be the compassionate position, which In-N-Out is callously disregarding."
City officials looked on in horror as hundreds of unvetted individuals lined up around the store to enjoy In-N-Out's delicious burgers without producing their vaccine papers.
"NOOOOOOO! This is all wrong!" said City Council Chair Damien Goobfritz as he watched the horrific scene unfold. "Some of those people may be eating even though they don't deserve to! This is a disaster!"
San Fransisco was then forced to deploy a SWAT team to slap burgers out of everyone's hands and shut the restaurant down until they agreed to practice discrimination.
Yeah! Democrats think it’s a violation of basic human rights to require an ID to vote but want IDs to buy a hamburger. You can’t make this stuff up.
We do not discriminate against unvaccinated, religion, race, sex, vaccinated, maskless, mask. All neighbors are welcome.
I'm gonna buy me an In-n-Out t-shirt.

This could turn into a great signaling device or meme or whatever. Plus a way to show continued support for a business that makes a courageous choice. I am picturing customizing it with a Sharpie message "Let's Go Brandon" to drive the point.
I have to drive an hour to get me a double-double but I think I will pick up a T as well.
Automan Empire saysYeah I'll just NOT FUCKING GO THERE FROM NOW ON! That's my response to places with vaccine mandates.
Yep. My local pizzeria has a sign requiring customers to be vaxxed before entering. They lost my business.
tell them loudly in front of all their customers.

That makes for a great fantasy play, but IRL you really have to manage optics carefully when doing this, so as not to make yourself and all of us skeptical of the covid vax get lumped as "Conspiracy antivaxx nutter" and dismissed with annoyance.
The people inside have already bought in to that store's requirements (however reluctantly), so "some guy having a public freakout at the door" isn't going to change any of their minds. Think in terms of addressing their self interests and winning their trust and buy-in to your point of view.
Saying something loudly might be one's only and best option, but what you say and how you say it during these opportunities makes a huge difference toward successfully resisting bad mandates.
I live in the bluest part of Northern Virginia

Well, I hope the Loudoun County part of that blue votes for Youngkin. I see that the Fairfax County part is setting up the after hours cheat.
I went maskless (as I have ALWAYS DONE everywhere I go) into a drugstore in Montgomery County Maryland about a month ago.
the San Ramon location received a $250 notice of fine.

Oooooh, this will hurt them so much, LOL.
This is a start to progressive fines that increase significantly with every future violation.

This is not a one time fine and then the Nazis go away. This is a start to progressive fines that increase significantly with every future violation. As in 2nd violation. $500, 4th violation $1,000 and so on.

Yep, and the way these types of laws tend to be written, after the third violation and fine, they shift the case to the city attorney's office and get to work on an Order of Abatement for the business, meaning the business is no longer considered a going concern and the clock is now ticking to either correct all violations to restore the business license or to vacate the property.

Then vacate it is. Fuck San Francisco..
