That would be in cases where the disease was severe enough to be systemic, while most people recover before it ever gets that far. With the shot, it's systemic in most cases.

As I've said before, I'm convinced that the many lesbians, unlike gay men, actually have a legitimate biological claim to being born different. There are only about 10% as many lesbians as gay men for one thing, a more plausible number.
