Prosecutor has a bad case of the uglies. And yes, of course she is.

2   Eric Holder   2020 Jun 30, 3:51pm

Obviously racially-motivated prosecution.

That was at the mayor's residence. They didn't have any castle doctrine rights there (If Missouri even has castle doctrine rights). It wasn't their own home.

So, I hate to say this but...they weren't standing on much legal ground there. If it has been their home, then yeah. Better.

Plus they swung the weapons in the protesters direction. Especially the lady with the pistol. Definite no-no unless they had real, probable cause to, which isn't shown either way in this video.

Interesting. I read a different account of the same incident.

It's probably cause when a 100 people show up armed, who are known to destroy and murder people.

They broke down the gate, right? So they invaded private property. That's breaking and entering, which can get you legally shot if it's someone's house.

Not that I'm a fan of gated communities, but legally, it was not their property to trespass on.

Stuff like this happened in Ireland in the 1800's, where starving Irish invaded English estates, but it was not quite the same thing. They were literally starving, not taking pictures on their iPhones.

We need to fork the Wikipedia. Conservapedia is a start, but it's not good enough.

Yeah, me neither but I detest that probably 90% of all homes are being built in HOAs. If you want to purchase a new home you don't have much choice at all on whether or not you want to be part of an HOA.

The prosecutor is full of shit.

I don't know the gun laws in Missouri; I do know them in Florida.

If you have a reasonable belief that either 1. you 2. another person is in imminent danger of A. severe injury B. death then you may use a firearm.
"Use in what way?" you may ask.
Use can mean brandish, point, even fire it if the threat is imminent.

You don't have to be on your own property for the above to apply to you.

In Florida, if you are in your "home" you do not need the above conditions; you may open fire and need ask no questions.
What is your "home" in Florida for gun laws? Your 1. house 2. condo 3. apartment 4. tent 5. yacht 6. car or truck

There will be argument over what is "reasonable belief" that they would be seriously injured.
1. enough protestors were there to kill both of them.
2. protestors had destroyed a gate to enter the private property.
3. protestors said they intended to kill them.

The prosecutors will say "the protestors were not really going to kill them."
But, the protestors were recorded yelling they intended to kill them.

One reason for gated communities is that the residents are successful and want no goddamn problems.

A big negative is that it's a pain in the ass if you live in one sometimes; you need to call the guy at the gate when someone feels like coming over.

The other negative is you pay a HOA to pay the salary of that guy at the gate.

It's a higher level of security for old people could be targets of predatory thieves.

You can buy a house in a gated community in Florida for less than the median price of any house (and piece of shit cabin) in Santa Cruz.

Would you rather pay 1. HOA and feel safe or 2. property tax in the thousands and get nothing except the pleasure of paying sheriffs, firemen and county and city pensions?

Soros has been installing these fuckers in all the low level county legal positions for years. We'll have to dig them out, starting with this tranny or whatever he/she is

Yeah, Florida is notorious for this.

County governments rather have HOAs since it means less responsibility for the county such as maintaining the roads within the HOA as well as the grounds, dog parks, etc.

Also counties in Florida like not having to enforce zoning rules like upkeep of landscaping such as cutting grass in front. They like having an HOA do that.

I like our HOA.

We bought a $187,000 brand new townhome (1510 square feet, 2 car garage, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath) about 2 miles from the beach in the Florida panhandle.

Its in a gated community with security systems but not a guard. HOA fee is $270 a month and includes trash removal, exterior insurance, lawn maintenance, road maintenance, pool, and gym. I pay $50 for interior insurance and $120 in property tax each month.

With a $75 a month for maintenance budget, it costs me about $1300 a month for mortgage (3% mortgage rate at 30 yrs)/taxes/insurance/maintenance.

It was cheaper to buy then it was to rent. It costs about $1600 a month to lease.

I derive no pleasure from paying those salaries. It could quite possibly be the worst investment I’ve made short of buying real estate in 2007.

Go check out what they did to the Tammany Hall wiki article, it's about 40 pages of tripe that makes the whole thing sound like on the up and up politics as usual.
The Crimes nestled way down at the bottom of the page is a 4 sentence blurb.
I remember the article about 10 or more years ago, after Kings of New York came out. The whole article was a History lesson on political corruption. Now it's a Democrat Playbook.
14   MisdemeanorRebel   2020 Jul 1, 7:09am

HOAs depend on the people who live in them. If the residents are dumb or lazy and elect assholes, they do all kinds of useless things, over regulate, and get kickbacks from their contractor buddies they hire.

If they just keep the roads and landscaping looking nice, it's good.

It was. There is an article from 2017 about them restoring that house over the last 30 years.
17   clambo   2020 Jul 1, 7:44pm

Property taxes are lower in Florida because the median price of a house/condo is a lot lower.

A guy moved out of the building in Jupiter Florida and bought a house. “My property tax is about a thousand dollars.”

The guy next door in Santa Cruz pays about $17,000, his house cost a lot more of course.

Florida sales tax was 6% , Santa Cruz 9.25%

Funny thing the roads and etc were better in Florida, Northern California roads are full of potholes, etc.
18   just_passing_through   2020 Jul 1, 7:47pm

What is the FL property tax rate?

Down here in SoCal it's worse. I think it may be related to more sand.

0.90% in my county, Brevard. There's also an up to $50,000 homestead exemption on primary residence. 6% sales tax. No income tax.

Roads are smooth as silk.

$7K in California. Which reads like fucking joke on a $1M house. =))

Nice. That's like a dweem! (channeling the nephew)

Even TX has some bad areas w/ respect to roads but they beat the shit out of CA hands down.

Part of the reason I'm driving a car that turns 18 in two weeks. I just cringe at the thought of upgrading and bouncing it all over these shit roads in San Diego.
23   just_passing_through   2020 Jul 1, 8:00pm

Had a convo with the parents about moving to FL night before last. Dad blew up. I'm not ever moving back to TX. I can't breath. Sorry, no can do. Not entirely sure FL will work for me but fingers crossed because I'm going to try it at some point.
