Damn, probably missed the run-up in gun stocks.
Glock seems to be private. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyone else have good tips for which guns are best for self-protection?
Hi guys,
Hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.
I’m looking to purchase a Glock19. Nobody, I mean nobody has this in stock in the Bay Area!
With Covid19 and the protests across the country, I’m being told that much of the Glock inventory that was present in gun stores across the Bay is sold out and it’s unlikely that more will be available for 4months+
Does anyone know where I can buy a Glock19 (legally) from a Bay Area gun store today? Anyone have stock?
Thanks

Buy one from budsgunshop.com and have it shipped to a FFL dealer in Bay Area. FFL dealer doesn't necessary mean gun shop, it can be so-called table top dealer, performing transfers only. I recommend Rob Blank in Milpitas. He does firearm transfers

Out of stock on G19, like everyone else.

Dudes,
Please be reminded that your comments are public. That includes, for Law Enforcement and all manner of lurkers.
I don't see any harm in that.

Recommending gun stores, and talking about what you own. Two different things.
Do you live in the Bay Area of the Liberal Left Coast?
Just asking.

you'd be worried
The difference between a Yugo gun and a BMW gun is hundreds of dollars, not ten thousand.
Buy something good and have fun at the range with it.
If I had a two-car garage and somebody said, "You wake up to a huge inferno surrounding your house and have 10 seconds to drive out to the street and book it. In the garage is a late 90s Corolla and a MB. They haven't been turned-over or used in 3 months. Only one will start right up and take you 100 miles down the road without any problems", I'll take the Corolla over the Mercedes-Benz
Now, if I woke up in a gun fanatic friends house, and I know he loves his firearms more than his wife, and I hear Antifa screaming "Kill Whitey!" while breaking down the front door, I'd grab the Sig Sauer before the Hi Point.
I took it to the range without cleaning it or cycling the action and the stupid thing worked. The rust was on the outside and it was a thin film. The internals were good.
Not sure why the push for hi points other than they are cheap.
Most are carrying Glock, MP Shield, Sig & Kimber.
which are currently sold out pretty much everywhere.

Try Cheaper Than Dirt if you want Smith and Wesson under $400. I prefer Ruger and you can get a 9mm concealed Ruger EC9 for under $300. Both the EC9 and the Smith and Wesson are in stock.

If I had to choose one thing for home defense, it would be a shotgun, and a hunting style rather than SUPERTACTICAL PISTOL GRIP LASER SIGHT one. The latter is, you look a lot "better" using Grandpa's old Shotgun than SUPERFORCE TACTICAL KILLEMALL BLACKENED STORMSWAT one if an "incident" happens and law gets involved. A plain wooden stock shotgun looks better than UBERTAC PLASTIC ASSAULT SHOTGUN when presented to a jury or stupid ass young prosecutor.
A couple of other advantages of shotguns:
- You won't miss.
- You probably won't kill the neighbors by accident.
- Big boom sound
I shot the CZ 75 far better than the other guns, and it was accurate as hell.
