To change policy now would mean our leaders are imbeciles and don't know WTF they are doing

CDC director cautions of a second even more devastating wave of coronavirus next winter and says his warnings are falling on deaf ears as he blasts the 'unhelpful' anti-lockdown protests

Robert Redfield warned the 'assault on our nation' could potentially be 'even more difficult than the one we just went through' in an interview Tuesday

He issued his assessment after labeling anti lockdown protests as 'not helpful'

And he reiterated 'the enormous impact' social distancing had on the outbreak

Redfield said an 'alternative workforce' of Census Bureau workers, Peace Corps and AmeriCorps volunteers could be used as contact tracers

What does the CDC know? They've been behind the curve the ENTIRE time for COVID, spewing out misleading information.

It's not even that from my perspective, although you are correct. We just have to try at some point. We cannot stay in hiding until a vaccine is created that will likely only be 30-40% effective for those that even take it. There's no superman coming in to save the day. People will die from this virus forever.

Hopefully better sanitary practices in the future prevent massive spread, but the cats out of the bag at this point. There's going to be a 2nd wave that no one can predict, so this CDC guy is talking out of his ass. There will be waves in the future, even after a vaccine is created just like our flu seasons can jump rather high.

Ultimately it's a taking care of yourself problem. Those with ailments out of their control excluded (cancer, non-fat fuck diabetes, lupus, etc). At some point your body just gets old though and we can't shut the economy down because we have a large demographic entering the killing zone with this. As boomers age, all sorts of reason for death are going to skyrocket. It's inevitable. This currently isn't even all that bad for a no vaccine virus that's brand new.

Based on the data coming out of NYC, it looks like more of the 17 and younger group died of Tide pods than Covid-19.

Imbeciles or captured? I vote captured.

There are always "waves" in the arms race between Corona-virus mutations vs. Human population immune system catching up to the mutations. Every summer, the intense UV from Sunlight mass-slaughter Coronoa-Virus (and flu virus, rhino-virus, etc) in the air and on surfaces under the Sun, turning them into natural vaccines that people can breathe in and let the immune system develop antibody proteins against them. Corona-virus, flu-virus, rhino-virus and etc. all have to be RNA virus in order to avoid extinction precisely because they have to be genetically unstable RNA viruses in order to quickly evolve to something that is not already recognized by human immune system from the summer.

Normal social interactions with their characteristic brevity outside the family enable people (and their immune systems) to be mildly exposed (at small viral load) to the latest mutations of the various viruses incrementally, keeping up with viral mutations. . . a little like getting frequent software anti-virus patches to ward off software virus. A prolonged lock-down would be like a computer being cut off from anti-virus updates, would have the same effect as a newly lab-created virus (which is also locked-down until release! The lock-downs work both ways: isolating human population from the latest mutations, regardless whether the mutations are natural or man-made), leaving the human population extremely vulnerable when finally exposed to the significantly mutated new strain.

Robert Redfield looks like a drunken Realtor. Don't need to be a body language expert to see those darting eyes of deception.
