"According to the Constitution, impeachment is a process, not a vote.

Now that the House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump, what is the constitutional status of the two articles of impeachment? Must they be transmitted to the Senate to trigger a trial, or could they be held back by the House until the Senate decides what the trial will look like, as Speaker Nancy Pelosi has hinted?

The Constitution doesn’t say how fast the articles must go to the Senate. Some modest delay is not inconsistent with the Constitution, or how both chambers usually work.

But an indefinite delay would pose a serious problem. Impeachment as contemplated by the Constitution does not consist merely of the vote by the House, but of the process of sending the articles to the Senate for trial. Both parts are necessary to make an impeachment under the Constitution: The House must actually send the articles and send managers to the Senate to prosecute the impeachment. And the Senate must actually hold a trial."

The Dude is seriously unwell.

So there was no quid pro quo, bribery, or other high crime or misdemeanor.

When will Hunter get to testify?

an insane conspiracy theory about the 2016 election planted in his addled brain by Putin

So, you actually believe the Russians colluded with Trump? Really?

Does anyone really believe that Trump colluded with the Russians and Hunter Biden was qualified to work for Burisma?

Remember when the democrats promised to accept the results of the election?

Like I have said let Hunter testify, Trump too and Guiliani whoever. But make it fair
Bolton, Mulvaney and others related to the Ukranian extortion testify too everyone under oath. Let the sun shine in. When will that happen?

The Senate trial should be as impartial as the house hearing.

That's fair

Collusion isnt a crime and has no criminal definition. Mueller found there was not enough evidence to bring a conspiracy charge. I accept that.

I have said that Trump won the election, period.

But you seem to believe the Ukranian government worked to elect Hillary and the DNC server is stashed in the Ukraine...somewhere and so forth. Putins theory. Do you?

No.
I believe Hillary, Joe, Hunter, Nancy, and many other politicians on both sides of the aisle are corrupt and not looking out for the people they claim to represent. Still not sure if Trump is the real deal or just another hired actor cast in the political theatre.

It seems to be a regular occurrence that candidates for President run to exempt themselves from the consequences of crime and punishment. It also seems to be why the crooked Dems have perverted the impeachment process, but just succeeded in drawing attention to their own corruption.

May not be cleaning out the swamp, but it puts it in obvious bold relief. We're a variation of a banana republic, but just with the biggest guns.

The amazing thing is Trump broadcasts what he's going to do and they don't believe him.

Impeachments have no time limit. The have no restriction as to scope, to whom they can bring to testify.

The Senate does not need House transmission to begin, there is nothing explicitly stating so.

Aside from Mittens and possibly Snowe, there is no way Trump doesn't get 51+ votes in the Senate for a wide ranging Trial that can easily result in a shitton of indictment recommendations from a process led by a SCOTUS Judge on top of the Senators themselves.

Everything is going just fine and dandy.

And just in time for 2020. Thanks Dems! Keep listening to your batshit base.
