NZ Threatens 10 Years In Prison For 'Possessing' Mosque Shooting Video; Web Hosts Warned, 'Dissenter' Banned

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-03-16/nz-threatens-10-years-prison-possessing-mosque-shooting-video-web-hosts-warned

New Zealand authorities have reminded citizens that they face up to 10 years in prison for "knowingly" possessing a copy of the New Zealand mosque shooting video - and up to 14 years in prison for sharing it. Corporations (such as web hosts) face an additional $200,000 ($137,000 US) fine under the same law. ...

Copies of Tarrant's livestream, along with his lengthy manifesto, began to rapidly circulate on various file hosting sites following the attack, which as we noted Friday - were quickly scrubbed from mainstream platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Scribd. YouTube has gone so far as to intentionally disable search filters so that people cannot find Christchurch shooting materials - including footage of suspected multiple shooters as well as the arrest of Tarrant and other suspects. ...

On Saturday, journalist Nick Monroe reported that New Zealand police have warned citizens that they face imprisonment for distributing the video, while popular New Zealand Facebook group Wellington Live notes that "NZ police would like to remind the public that it is an offence to share an objectional publication which includes the horrific video from yesterday's attack. If you see this video, report it immediately. Do not download it. Do not share it. If you are found to have a copy of the video or to have shared it, you face fines & potential imprisonment."

While the video is no doubt offensive, it is an offense against free speech to imprison people for possessing or sharing it.

Not every country has the same laws as USA. While I may not agree with the law, I say it is not Draconian. With that said, I am waiting for the Mueller report to be tabled in front of Congress.

That’s infringement on freedom. I bet if left could they’d do it here too.

This is often used as an excuse for lots of dispicable things on the left. “well it’s their culture”, so Muslims are allowed to cut off girls clits in Europe.

It’s either a bad idea or not, and in this case, censoring the video is a bad idea because it goes down the rabbit hole of totalitarianism and thought control that Orwell warned us about.

I think it is more about compassion and protecting the dignity of the victims and their families.

It has nothing to do with tyranny with a happy face (also referred to as political correctness or social justice activism).

So if a NZ guy is caught sharing that video with a few friends, he could go to jail for longer than the guy who did the shooting.

Actually, Denniger thinks the video should be mandatory viewing by everyone:

http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=235323

I searched, found, downloaded and watched the video. On a large screen.

You should do so too.

And then you should gather your family and make sure everyone in it watches it too including any child who is old enough to be out of the house without your direct, personal supervision -- which means any kid old enough to go to school.

You should watch it because it is real.

You should watch it because it makes clear the price of cowering in the corner if and when a jackwad decides to show up and try to murder you.

You should watch it because it shows you exactly how savage someone who intends to murder is -- up to and including the nice Grand Theft Auto reference when said jackwad runs over with his car one of the people he just shot.

You should watch it because it makes clear the price of surrendering your right to life and to protect your life and those who you love personally, a right that existed before there was a government -- any government -- and will exist long after this rock is a smoking cinder in space.

The price of such surrender is that you and your loved ones, if such a circumstance arises, will be DEAD.

The entire purpose of watching that video is to be affected. It is for you to get angry. It is for you to recognize the destruction of your pre-government right to keep and bear arms as a natural and obvious requirement in order for you to have any chance of defense of your right to live as a human being, which our Founders put into the Constitution even though many of them didn't think it was necessary as it was so obvious to them that they believed no written word stating same was necessary at all.

The Founders were wrong.

For more than two hundred years, and especially in the last hundred, over fifty thousand blatantly unconstitutional acts claiming to be laws that actually are not, under the very principles that this nation was founded upon, have been enacted, each and every one of them by a cadre of power-drunk tyrants who have and do endorse murder and terrorism and by their acts and through those who claim to "enforce" said acts they intentionally and with malice aforethought give material support, aid and comfort to murderers and terrorists every single day.

You must understand the first rule of true, no-bull**** combat: Everyone who comes in second or further down the list is six feet underground in a box.

If such a circumstance occurs you must fight with whatever you have and in as savage a means as you can present to your opponent. No exceptions, no apologies and there are no participation trophies. It is a binary event: You win or you die.

Not one person who intends or commits an act of murder or terrorism gives a damn about any law. Ever. Period. It is for this reason that the Declaration of Independence clearly states that your right to life exists independent of, before and will exist after any form, type or collection of government. PERIOD.

This video documents in clear, graphic form why the 2nd Amendment says in clear English: SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

The 2nd Amendment does not say "only if you have a permit or license."

The 2nd Amendment does not say "not in a church, synagogue or mosque."

The 2nd Amendment does not say "only if your weapon has (or doesn't have) this characteristic or that."

The 2nd Amendment does not say "if you're are or are not {whatever}."

The 2nd Amendment does not say "if it shall please or is approved by the government in some form."

It says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

Maybe -- just maybe -- watching that video will give people both young and old the right idea: When some jackwad wants to kill you right now and the cops are just a few minutes away your best and only sane decision is to fight with whatever you have and in as savage a manner as you can physically achieve.

Ahhh, comment length issue..

Continued:

Further, your NATURAL RIGHT to remain alive makes clear that every human being has a right that pre-exists government, a right you had damned well better insist any and all governments respect to purchase and own (keep), have upon your person (bear) and in this sort of situation USE the most effective device ever invented by man to shift the odds in your favor: A GUN OF YOUR -- AND ONLY YOUR -- CHOOSING.

Despite CNN and other media outlets running hours of coverage blaming Trump for the shooting, a seditious and outrageous lie, the fact of the matter is that the shooter clearly stated in his manifesto (of which I also have a copy) the government most-aligned with his view was that of CHINA. The Chinese government, may I remind you, slaughtered more than two million of their own people in just three short years between 1948-1951.

In short the purpose of watching that video is to wake you from your government and media-induced stupor and recognize that the Founders, when they wrote The Declaration, were both not kidding and they had a full, complete and accurate understanding of exactly what the price is of surrendering the rights you posses and damn well ought to insist be respected irrespective of any government or alleged jurisdiction -- past, present or future.

Sorry but facts don’t care about feelings. No one is forcing victims to watch the video. You know what I do when I don’t want to watch something? Easy, I simply don’t click the video.

Being able to view the killers manifesto, his mannerisms, has educational value. If the video was just him shooting people, you might have a point. But his behavior, words, and motivations are crucial in understanding what drives these lunatics.

The banning of his manifesto is simply the hot purely SJW move right now. You know how I know? Because Hitlers speeches where he is demonizing Jews (of which he eventually killed 6 million) are free to watch on YouTube in startling audio quality and video (for the time period) without nary a peep from the SJW lefties.

Shit, Farrakhan called Jews Termites and wasn't suspended from Twitter for one minute.

I called out some Islamist on his webcam ho follows and got suspended for 48 hours.

There is no compassion. They are afraid of someone seeing and going copycat.

Politicians have only greed and fear, compassion is foreign to them.

A lunatic that is also sociopathic will say things and put out a lot of disinformation. So if you are trying to establish some facts or identify trends, then you may end up further down some rabbit hole that the lunatic mass murderer dug cleverly.

Or perhaps the lunatic was aided by foreign state intelligence operators or actors. Somebody could have dialed in this lunatic to commit the murders just like other lunatics who committed past mass murders.

Why haven't Republicans released all their committee findings in the last two years? Why do they hate free speech?

Rep/Cons worry about other countries because they can't face the anger & hate in the hearts of their ilk.

"Right-wing terrorists killed three times more people in US than Islamists in past decade with attacks soaring in 2018, report says"

Mueller also has them running scared.

I can't be sure, but this could be video footage taken at the mosque shortly after the shooting occurred:

I watched the video. Seems like the dude was going for “video game mode” with a FPS POV. It was annoying mostly, with the unintelligible music and shaky camera work, mostly driving. He seems to spend a whole lot of time shooting into piles of bodies. Really wanted to be sure they were dead I guess. That last woman he shot was disturbing. He wings her and she’s calling for help before he splatters her brains with a couple head shots. Kinda glad the resolution wasn’t any better. Whoever this guy was, he was a first class asshole.

Someone needs to sync the video with yacketyak-yak sax and put in 100,000 channels.
