All Trump is showing is that he CAN'T fire Powell because Powell isn't a Federal Employee. He is an officer of a foreign corporation chartered in Puerto Rico known as the Federal Reserve Bank whose shareholders are in Europe. Trump is making a show of his powerlessness to illustrate that fact.
No matter how much Trump screams, yells, intimidates, shames, exposes, rants, rails etc., Powell is still there and will be for the duration.
