I thought finding out what was wrong with people in Texas required ten years of observation out of the line of fire, and then at least ten years of meditation on a mountain top.
Finding out what is wrong with people in California isn't so easy. It requires nerves of steel and divine intervention.
pollutants released into the air at the Baytown, Texas plant
I remember when the Texas Tour was in Houston in 1972 we stayed at a friend's in-laws home in Baytown and drove everyday to the Astrodome in his '29 DeSoto--once you hit Baytown you could literally tell where you were by the odors--there was one odor on the main road, but after you turned off and went down to their home, it was another odor. The whole Houston experience was so unpleasant that the clubs said they wouldn't attend in 1973 if it was held in Dallas, which was planned, so we went to Kerrville in the HIll Country instead and it was a wonderful tour.
$20 million?
Gosh, that's almost a whole day's profit for a plant like that.

And that's only the air pollution. The water smells and tastes like sulfur all through the east gulf area. Even the top hotels have trouble getting rid of the extra flavor. Disgusting.
"A Texas court ordered Exxon (XOM) on Wednesday to pay $20 million in fines for pollutants released into the air at the Baytown, Texas refining and chemical plant outside of Houston."
That will make it ALL better for victims of this terrorism in this Republican state.
