"The deep state, although there’s no precise or scientific definition, generally refers to the agencies in Washington that are permanent power factions. They stay and exercise power even as presidents who are elected come and go. They typically exercise their power in secret, in the dark, and so they’re barely subject to democratic accountability, if they’re subject to it at all.

One of the main priorities of the CIA for the last five years has been a proxy war in Syria, designed to achieve regime change with the Assad regime. Hillary Clinton was not only for that, she was critical of Obama for not allowing it to go further, and wanted to impose a no-fly zone in Syria and confront the Russians. Donald Trump took exactly the opposite view. He said we shouldn’t care who rules Syria; we should allow the Russians, and even help the Russians, kill ISIS and al-Qaeda and other people in Syria. So, Trump’s agenda that he ran on was completely antithetical to what the CIA wanted. Clinton’s was exactly what the CIA wanted, and so they were behind her. And so, they’ve been trying to undermine Trump for many months throughout the election."

If you don't already know why Hillary Clinton and her Saudi clients and the CIA wanted regime change in Syria, read about the pipeline deals. If you want to know more about what lengths they went to, read about "The Red Line and the Rat Line".

General "Flynn was...the cornerstone of Trump’s national security policy. For one thing, Flynn dared the unthinkable: he dared to declare that the bloated US intelligence community had to be reformed. Flynn also tried to subordinate the CIA and the Joint Chiefs to the President via the National Security Council. Put differently, Flynn tried to wrestle the ultimate power and authority from the CIA and the Pentagon and subordinate them back to the White House. Flynn also wanted to work with Russia...

The Neocon run ‘deep state’ has now forced Flynn to resign under the idiotic pretext that he had a telephone conversation, on an open, insecure and clearly monitored, line with the Russian ambassador.

And Trump accepted this resignation."

I find this development disconcerting, because in my opinion the NATO policy of bomb&invade&import served the Clintons' Wahhabi clients at the expense of NATO voters including especially American voters. America would do better to remember what Churchill said about Islam, including warning against the Wahhabis in particular, and the House of Saud by name. At different times in the past, Russia has been an enemy (e.g. in the Cold War) and an ally (in WWII). Islam was always an enemy, and our Constitution was written partly for the specific purpose of confronting it in what became known as the Barbary Wars. President Jefferson launched the First Barbary War, and President Madison completed his mentor's mission with the Second Barbary War, ending centuries of Barbaric piracy that had been sponsored by the Barbary States as per Islam. "There is nothing that fails like success." Following the success of the Barbary Wars, many have forgotten what Islam says and does. Petrodollar baksheesh has corrupted some to advocate empowering and financing Islam, even importing it, all of which are dreadful mistakes.

In an act of possible sedition, neocon Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) Tweeted, "Obviously strongly prefer normal democratic and constitutional politics. But if it comes to it, prefer the deep state to the Trump state." As a professional writer, Kristol knows he is using the imperative mood and apparently telling his followers to prefer a coup d'etat against the elected President. For what motive? Power, including money, including pipeline deals involving billions of Petrodollars and the spread of Islam.

TinyURL!!!

That might not help.

@Patrick, the "new post" function seems to have created a nonworking URL on the home page, by importing prose from the Post. I tried editing the Post but can't see how to remove the automatically generated URL.

What if you added some plain, non hypertext, text before you inserted the link or just did a copy and paste of the first paragraph from the article, then inserted the link?

I tried starting with plain text, then following with new hypertext, but it auto-inserted the new hypertext.
