And how long do you suppose it would take for the GOP members of the Senate to modify that particular rule of procedure once it was so soundly abused? Seems like it was just yesterday when a Senate Democrat majority was changing the rule about filibustering. In fact, they even have a term for the new situation.
"The nuclear or constitutional option is a parliamentary procedure that allows the U.S. Senate to override a rule or precedent by a simple majority of 51 votes, instead of by a supermajority of 60 votes. ... They immediately put the issue to the full Senate, which decides by majority vote."
So that shit ain't gonna work. Democrats would be far better served to see where hey can work with the republicans to pass laws good for their constituents.
