I like what facebook and google are doing about fake news.

I don't know whether it would stop people like TPB from believing a significant amount of the absurd crap he believes, becasue he's the kind of idiot that believes that the NYT and WAPO are propaganda organs, and only publications far less respected than the national enquirer can be trusted, with their reports of Soros funded protests etc., paid protesters and so on.

But for most of us, at least being alerted right away that a news source is not legit, or having something fact checked, is valuable information, and will prevent at least some of the less moronic idiots from sharing stuff online that makes them look stupid.

In this election in a few cases Trump himself or deputies (campaign managers) shared fake news in tweets. That was something we haven't seen before.

It seems its main stream media most concerned about "fake news" even though they have been involved in disseminating plenty of it themselves. Truth is neither left wing or right wing BUT because the left lost they are trying to blame "fake news and Russia" as the culprits rather than trying to putting up a dishonest candidate who stole the nomination from Sanders and having the media act as campaign propaganda

Remember, it's illegal for you to look at Wikileaks but not us (CNN).
