Beliefs aside, the biggest indicator of a creator, higher power, is individual consciousness imo. I have to this day not heard an even remotely plausible explanation that doesn't involve God.

This is a follow up to a post I made five years ago about the Copenhagen Interpretation of Quantum Mechanics and how bullshit artists like to use it to justify a belief in free will, an illusion that a deterministic universe does not allow.
I've found three videos that do a great job of explaining three interpretations of quantum mechanics, particularly the double slit experiment.
The first is the Copenhagen interpretation.

The third is the de Broglie-Bohm pilot wave theory or Bohmian mechanics. This is the interpretation I subscribe to.

Mystics love the Copenhagen interpretation because it is non-deterministic and that leaves wiggle room for some mystical free will. I say bupkis because such quantum randomness, if real, would apply to inanimate objects like rocks and computers every bit as much as to humans, and you don't attribute free will to those things.
The Many Worlds interpretation gets ignored outside of sci fi because how meaningful is free will if you are force to take every possible choice. That's in effect, no choice at all. But I don't like the Many Worlds interpretation because it requires creating unimaginable number of universes at every fork in the road. That's at every Planck distance and at every Planck time. Where does all the energy to do that come from?
But most of all, neither of those interpretations provides an underlying physical mechanism for quantum mechanics and the collapse of the wave function. Bohmian mechanics does. And after all, we do live in a physical universe. Why would part of our universe, especially such a critical part, be inherently non-physical? What would that even mean?
Also Bohmian mechanics is deterministic. Causality continues to operate and have meaning even though we cannot, even in principle, predict with complete precision the behavior of the system. Predictability and determinism are independent concepts. Either can be true while the other is false. I believe that the universe is deterministic and unpredictable, and that free will is not only an illusion, but a meaningless one at that.
