The Tunisian terrorist who killed two people in an apparently Islamist-inspired shooting in Brussels reportedly illegally entered Europe in a people smuggler migrant boat in 2011

Now it has emerged that the terrorist, who claimed affiliation with the so-called Islamic State (ISIS), had no right be in Europe but had evaded efforts to deport him back to his home country of Tunisia in Northern Africa.

According to a report from Belgian broadcaster RTL, the would-be terrorist first arrived in Europe aboard a people smuggler migrant boat in 2011 on the beaches of the Italian island of Lampedusa, which has long been one of the top destinations for illegals crossing the Mediterranean from Africa.

Lassoued then applied for asylum in the northern Italian city of Turin, however, his request was refused. Rather than returning home, he travelled to Norway. Norwegian authorities were able to expel the Tunisian national back to Italy, but by 2012 he managed to make his way to Sweden where he remained for two years, during which he spent time in prison for drug crimes.

He was removed back to Italy once again, and in 2016 Italian authorities first began to consider Lassoued as dangerous and at risk of becoming an Islamic radical. Although he was issued with yet another deportation order, he successfully challenged his removal in court. Lassoued later relocated to Belgium where he once again applied for asylum in 2020 and in 2021. Though his request was denied again, he ignored the removal order and remained in the country until the fatal attack on Monday in Brussels.’

Finland is closing all crossings on the Russian border after accusing Moscow of deliberately helping migrants into the country.

Seven of eight road posts have already shut over a rise in crossings this month.

The government now says the last, located in the Arctic Circle, will close on Thursday for two weeks.

Around 900 asylum seekers entered Finland from Russia in November, up from fewer than one a day on average.

They come from countries including Morocco, Pakistan and Syria, authorities say.

Finland is "determined to put an end to the crossings", Prime Minister Petteri Orpo said in a statement.

The government says Russia is channelling asylum seekers towards Finland in what it calls an "influence operation" and "hybrid attack" - and has responded by progressively closing more and more border posts.

Raja-Jooseppi was the last road crossing to remain open, but it too will be closed by Friday. A rail crossing will remain open for freight traffic.

Speaking to the BBC, Matti Pitkaniitty, a colonel in the Finnish border guard, said legal concerns over maintaining Finland's obligations under international refugee law were "definitely" a reason for the progressive closure of the border.

Col Pitkaniitty said border guards had noticed clear evidence of Russian officials helping migrants cross into Finland, such as instances where Russian border points were closed after people crossed to prevent them returning.

Demographics. They don't have working aged labor to do the grunt/low education work. It's not about wanting them, it's about money. They just need to deal with what comes along with it. No different than the shit we put up with here in the states. Get Julio to do your drywall job for $8/hr that will do it better than a 25 year old American kid on drugs. This is while Julio is making extra money selling drugs to the kid that can barely work because he has no skills.

Occasionally you get a fucked up migrant that kills people. Reality is people can deal with a few deaths. They prefer to have the lights on, sewer, water, roads, etc. Native people don't do that grunt work. So a few attacks from time to time is acceptable. I don't like it, but this is the reality of a lot of nations.

Our labor forces are coddled, there's less of them domestically and shit needs to get done. In comes Julio and we look the other way instead of fixing the root of the problem. The idea of college. In his first address at the United Nations General Assembly since 2020, US President Donald Trump warned Europe on Tuesday that irregular migration is "destroying your heritage" and ruining its countries.

Trump called immigration and policies confronting climate change a “double-tailed monster” that’s ruining the European continent, particularly harsh in his condemnation of what he called “the unmitigated immigration disaster.”

“If you don’t stop people that you’ve never seen before, that you have nothing in common with, your country is going to fail," Trump said.

"I’m the president of the United States, but I worry about Europe. I love Europe, I love the people of Europe. And I hate to see it being devastated by energy and immigration, that double-tailed monster that destroys everything in its wake.”

“You’re doing it because you want to be nice," he said in a direct address to the European leaders. "You want to be politically correct, and you’re destroying your heritage.”

“It’s time to end the failed experiment of open borders. You have to end it now. I can tell you, I’m really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell,” Trump said. ,,,

During his hour-long speech, Trump accused the UN of facilitating and investing in irregular migration worldwide.

Referring to the US, he said the intergovernmental organisation facilitated the entrance of “millions” of migrants into the country.

“The UN is supporting people that are illegally coming into the United States, and we have to get them out,” Trump said, and added that the top international organisation should “stop invasions, not create them and not finance them.”

Although he did not explicitly name them, Trump was likely referring to two of the UN's aid agencies supporting migrants and refugees worldwide, the IOM and the UNHCR.
