Really miss the real estate threads. This site not as interesting as it used to be.
Real Estate Bust talk is SOOOOoo 2005!
Even Patrick had to eventually move on.
As a long-time renter on the sidelines, I find myself looking at houses.
patrick.net is TBTF, regardless of content.

@Patrick, you might find less confusion, by those who haven't been here in a while, if you added something to the home page that gives a statement of purpose to the site.... I know you have something about "tech company watch," but that isn't super clear, IMHO. I would add a short statement like:
Welcome to Patrick.net, the preferred 'go-to' site for the latest information about Bay Area technology companies, as well as unbridled discussions about all kinds of things happening in the world, today. Happy posting!
Just a thought.
What happened to the Immense Hirsute Lesbian header? Maybe "Immense Hirsute Lesbians in Real Estate"?

You've not been following. The new blog title will have to be Hirsute Lesbians in SF High Tech Watch. Interesting what Google keywords that will set off.
Patrick,
Maybe you can shed some light for my own reference. Why did the focus of the site change recently?
BayArea
Mainly because I was getting bored with the housing thing and I don't think we're in a bubble anymore since lending isn't crazy.
But also just because I like reading about tech companies and going to tech events in sf.

You aren't getting that 2001: A DotCom Odyssey feeling?

Ceffer, you need to talk about my hookers, perhaps at a rate, half the amplitude as the Immense Hirsute Lesbians. Strategist and I can't do it alone.

well yeah, now that you mention it the tech company scene does feel kind of frothy, with lots of jobs and lots of companies that maybe shouldn't really be getting funding. so in a way the site is still on a related topic.
but even there, it's not nearly like the last dot-com bubble. you could get a job just for breathing in 1999. kind of like getting a mortgage in 2003.
Money losing operations. Check.
I'm still betting Square will lead us into the abyss. YMMV.
Back To Square One
Jack Dorsey’s dazzling startup promised to transform the credit and finance industry with a sweeping, digitized vision of the future. After losing $100 million, has his company lost its edge?
Bring back the Real Estate blog. Or at least make it a selection on the menu.
What happened to the ability to post a video?

Scum bag Realtor and his boomerang buyers. This guy makes used car salespeople look good.
They didn't learn their lesson the first time.
The company section hasn't taken off yet. I would think SF real estate is tied to the fate of SF companies. Can understand downplaying real estate but not eliminating it.
what happened to the real estate section?
I've always considered this to be a real estate site and don't see it focused on that way?
