Have 77% of Americans ever agreed on anything? Turns out, yes: Immigration.

An Economist/YouGov.com poll on issues related to immigration found the following:

81% believe that the problem is serious.
77% believe they should be returned to their country of origin
66% express strong sympathy for the causes that drove them north
57% believe that immigrants are coming here because the government will be granting amnesty

Since about half the world's population wants to come here, that makes about 120 immigrants per present individual already here.

We could phase them in, maybe ten a year for twelve years. You get to share your house with them, your paycheck, your health care, have your Social Security divided, pass around your cell phone, and yeah, even your welfare checks if it applies. Of course, they will be having kids, so you will probably have sixty percent again at the end of the twelve years.

That applies 120 to every member of your household. If you think you can save them all, then vote for unbridled immigration.

It doesn't matter because ordinary Americans do not get what they want. 1%ers, who live in the Greenbelt or in Penthouses or in Gated Communities have decided they want to depress wages by increasing the supply of labor in the face of stagnant demand.
