Delta Airline flight attendants recently made a disabled man crawl off a plane and crawl over the tarmac because they didn't have the proper equipment to help him deplane. Instead of helping him physically, the flight attendants just watched. The man asserts it was because they were afraid to be sued. America has 80% of the world's lawyers. We are sue happy. Some say tort reform will fix this. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) discusses the issue.

People are seriously opining about libel and false representation on the very first page for fake rental rates. Is anyone surprised?

Damn good analysis by RT News. I agree with all three major points. First, that the U.S. has too many lawyers and frivolous lawsuits. Second, that this particular incident warrants a tort lawsuit. Third, that politicians are concerned with corporate interests, not those of citizens.

Delta Airline flight attendants recently made a disabled man crawl off a plane and crawl over the tarmac because they didn't have the proper equipment to help him deplane.

This alone is grounds for a legitimate lawsuit under the Americans with Disability Act. The fact that the man was dehumanized and humiliated is grounds for punitive damages for psychological and physical trauma.

I'll add one more thing. I'm shocked that no other passenger helped this man. I can't imagine not offering to help the guy by carrying him or at least supporting him. Am I just naive to not be concerned with being sued or is the public far more apathetic than I realized?
