What the actual fuck?

""We Haven't Run The Numbers:" A Startling Ryan Admission That's Getting Little Attention"

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/08/15/we-havent-run-the-numbers-a-startling-ryan-admi/189369

"Last night, newly ensconced Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan sat down for his first solo interview with Fox News' Brit Hume and let slip an admission about Mitt Romney's budget plan -- an admission that's receiving surprisingly little press attention. Asked by Hume when the Romney plan would balance the budget, Ryan said he didn't know because "we haven't run the numbers on that specific plan.""

I see you don't list your resident city. Judging where your mind is at based on your comment below, I'll just assume your a San Fran boy.....
But then again, liberals always did bend over backwards for any kind of free handout....

Sorry to have bored you by posting all of these simple facts xrpb11a... I know you much prefer your fantasy world to exploring real world results and happenings, in there you're a king, some grand wizard or something, riding the great dragon of liberal crushing power, who apparently loves and grows stronger and more powerful with each new bit of verbal felatio delivered by your chosen leaders...

The campaign is bullshit, from top to bottom. Doesn't that bother you? Or does it bore you?

Every campaign I've seen in my life has been bullshit. What really bothers me is that both candidates are pure evil, far more so than in the 20th century.

Nixon was a crook and a lousy human being, but by today's standards he's a saint.

I watched the Sunday morning news/talk shows as I usually do ("This Week With George Stephanopolis" and "Meet the Press") and I was struck more than ever by the lies from Romney's campaign.

The biggest lie: "We want to talk about substance."

Right. How do they talk about substance without talking about taxes or medicare. OF course they know this and are therefore on a offense lying their asses off.

I have some friends who are relatively moderate republicans, and I can't halp wondering why they aren't bothered by the lying.

(Yes, I know - people will say that about Obama ? With his "hope and change" or his desire to work across aisle etc. But it can at least be argued that this was his real intent.)

Whereas Romney /Ryan are selling specific policy ideas by lying. Their changes to medicare are not honestly described. Instead they focus on bs about OBama "raiding medicare." Why can't they just admit that they want to end medicare as a defined benefit program and replace it with vouchers ?

Every thinking person knows that they are terrified of the political impact of ending medicare, so they get out in front of the issue with lies and misinformation.

Same thing with taxes. Really ? Not only will you not raise taxes on the wealthy but you will cut them more ? And somehow you believe that this can be sold (not to mention you believe it will work ?!!).

I notice a striking difference between what a fiscal conservative was 30 years ago versus now.

Now it's as if deep down the biggest goal is growing as much wealth in the aristocracy as possible, and fuck everyone else. They claim that the democrats are negative on America when the truth is I think the so called "conservatives" have totally given up on the American dream. It's all about "I've got mine."

so this is a "new" twist in presidential politics for you....
How quaint....welcome to the new world, circa 1776.

I repeat: I'm bored.

Then stop posting.

So you admit you recognize that romney and ryan are lying through their teeth about, well, fucking EVERYTHING, and you support that, and your defense is to claim to be BORED at my naivety because I still have the capacity and dignity to be affronted by this sham of a campaign that insults all of us every time one of them opens their mouth. Great, well done you. Great show for the moral standards of the "Grand" old party, great support for the "honor" of your philosophy that can't get what it wants except by lying and hiding, and stoopidly so. And when it comes down to it all you really want is nothing more than what marcus says: "I got mine, screw you". Great, what more is there for you to say, other than to resort to personal insults and fake scandal talking points.

Oh, look.

And no, I don't live in the Bay Area.

Indeed. It's an unbelievably sad year for politics. I honestly believe it's come to this because the US system does not enable it's constituents to hold their representatives accountable or take them to task for anything. We're forced into this 'us v them' narrative and who we end up supporting is whomever is presented as the opposite of the other guys team. Why should our candidates respect us? Why should they feel they have to work for our vote? Because they don't. You can practically hear them saying "ha, where else are they gonna go?" And that's what Romney and Ryan are saying every single time they open their mouths. And they don't even have enough respect for their supporters to bother lying effectively.

And poor little xrpb11a is "bored" by all of this, that's all he can muster.

46   freak80   2012 Aug 19, 11:48pm

Kentm,

I agree that the Republican party is full of shit. It's going to be hilarious watching Romney campaign against Romney-Obama-Care, for example. And of course all the Rushbots and Foxbots will line up in lockstep to vote for him anyway.

But I'm not going to vote for "your team" either. The base of your party wants to force religious groups to do same-sex marriage ceremonies even if it's against their beliefs. That's the *real* motive behind gay marriage: establishing a legal "beach head" from which to assault religious groups. And I'm quite fed up with the assertion that "traditional marriage" = Jim Crow. That's bullshit.

Yes, I admit that. Along with what you omitted, that the jackass party is also lying through their teeth...
Do some historical research, this type of shit, and the level of it in presidential politics, goes back to the 1700s...

the fact that you still have "the capacity and dignity to be affronted" indicates you are ignorant of history and incapable of tolerating the american political system.

Maybe life would be less stressful for you in the 'Humor' section of this website....

No, I don't support that. but it is what it is and there is nothing on this earth you can do to change it. But for you to tell me that "I support that" without any proof whatsoever indicates that you have been integrated somewhat into american politics and are guilty of the same charges you level at Romney....

Welcome to the new world!!

52   michaelsch   2012 Aug 20, 6:03am

Frankly, I don't see much wrongdoing in what Ryan did.

For example, I consider the mortgage interest tax deduction a most damaging for US economy. As such it's much worse than any particular stimulus junk. However, would i decide to by a house i would use it to reduce my tax obligations.
I think that $USD financial pyramid suppresses prices we pay for international goods, but I can't imagine buying Ford instead of Honda.
I think that the lack of adequate energy taxes causes huge damage to both economy and ecology and forces EU consumers to effectively subsidize our gasoline consumption, but I''m glad I can get a gallon of gas for only $4, rather than $9 like in EU.

Actually I'm not a democrat. I've honestly never voted democrat… But really, if you think of yourself as one and you come to this site dishing out the kind of crap and insults you do here then I can't believe you on that point. And when I said "poor" I wan't talking monetarily.

The point of this whole thread is not to inspire, its to express my disgust… Am I naive?… Yeah, I hope so. At least enough to have the capacity to be wigged out by the kind of rank behavior we're seeing from this particular team.

The theme of this thread probably predicated on this simple old quote from Orwell: "We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men."

54   xrpb11a   2012 Aug 20, 7:03am

Apparently, how you've been brought up to think and act regarding american politics is in direct opposition to political reality, from the beginning, circa 1776.

You espouse moderate, sensible discussion, debate, and advertising from your politicians, an unachievable fantasy.

You live in Bill Maher's infamous bubble.
