There is a very serious suggestion which argues that the time to start breaking up the big banks is now.
Why serious? It comes from the head of the Dallas Federal Reserve.
This is more plausible than it may seem -- banks may want to do it themselves by selling off pieces for cash, bulking up assets, and then buying again during the next crash....
