Zimmerman was on the bottom with Martin on top of him and not the other way around.  It therefore is utterly irrelevant whether Zimmerman had the right to "stand his ground" as his option to flee the confrontation had been cut off by Martin. There are plenty of hand-wringers who claim that a "fight" should not lead to death.  It would be nice if we lived in a fantasy world, but we don't.

Only because we feel sorry that you left wingers don't support the spawn of your party.....

marcus says

Another right winger that needs to believe Zimmerman's story that Martin jumped him out of the blue.

1109   Y   2013 Jul 22, 1:13am

This is the crux of the fallacy of your post. It is very likely that during the 4 minutes of silence between TM phone calls, TM, having enough time to get home in 1 minute, circled around, stalked GZ for 3 minutes, decided he was an overweight mexican he could put a beatdown on, and then confronted zimmerman, attacking him out of the blue.

marcus says

Another right winger that needs to believe Zimmerman's story that Martin jumped him out of the blue.

marcus says

Otherwise it's highly unlikely

1110   Y   2013 Jul 22, 1:16am

And you need to believe Zimmerman is guilty to appease the sins of your ancestors.

marcus says

He needs to say that Martin attacked him to have a chance of it being considered self defense.

1111   Y   2013 Jul 22, 1:17am

This is where dimbulbs chime in with "b-b-but we know zimmerman got out of the car..."

Yes, everyone understands that. The question is who lost their temper, started the physical altercation, and struck the first blow.

marcus says

Yes, everyone understands that. The question is how and why the fight occurred in the first place.

1113   StillLooking   2013 Jul 22, 1:29am

Perhaps the guy that was once arrested for assaulting a police officer started the fight.

The rumor is GZ's assault on a police officer was him trying to get between GZ's friend and an undercover cop in a bar trying to arrest people for underage drinking. The police officer did not legally identify himself during the scuffle.

The police are pretty adamant about making charges stick when it comes to this crime. If there was any validity to it I'm sure they would not have dropped the charges so easily.

An obvious come back to this is GZ's father who is a magistrate, made the case disappear. If this were true I'm sure the DOJ or FBI would have found evidence of this.

All evidence of TM's violent past is readily available too. For instance, TM said "he didn't bleed enough" when talking about a recent organized fist fight he was in.

lol, they did. Your arrest record is permanent, even if there were no charges filed, or if there were charges and they were dropped. The only way that it can be erased is if you petition the court to have the record of the arrest expunged. He might have done that, considering that he was looking at a career in Law Enforcement, but there's still a court record of it.

lol, jeesh. I really doubt if you even know why, too.

1117   foxmannumber1   2013 Jul 22, 1:55am

I figured you would know about the case. GZ attended an alcohol class and the charges were dropped after successful completion. If GZ's father had influence on this relatively light sentence then the FBI or DOJ would have found evidence of that. They did not.

Everything else you said makes little sense.

Duh, with as much as the media, especially Fox News has hyped this to turn this into a psuedo-racial/emotional issue, it was the mainline news topic, and I'm happy that it's over and the news-hacks can't exploit the topic anymore.

Ya ever heard of privacy or HIPAA laws?????

Nice try at trying to change the subject though, as I never once mentioned anything about his(GZ) father, but you did.

So, you now concede the issue of his(GZ) arrest record?

And, do you know why(doubtful at best) there's some sort of record of the expungement of an arrest????

1119   foxmannumber1   2013 Jul 22, 2:19am

Nothing about GZ's arrest or domestic violence charge is a mystery.

I brought up GZ's father being a magistrate because it is a common false rebuttal to the charges being dropped.

All the ? marks and bringing up HIPAA confuse me.

I too am glad the trial is over.

1120   Bap33   2013 Jul 22, 2:23am

lol .. GZ past is in play?? TM past must be too. So, lets compair shall we.
WHo volunteers to help others?
Who is a thief?
Who put himself in harms way and made himself a target in an effort to help police curb crime in his area?
Who smokes dope on the regular?
Who called 911?
Who called his boo instead of 911 and called someone "cracker"?
Who was kicked out of school - twice?
Who had facial tatoos?
Who tutored young negro children?

now ... here's one for ya ... who would you rather see standing behind you at the ATM? or standing in the dark at the end of your driveway if you lived in that hood? or picking up your kids as the bus driver? or coaching your kids soccer team? ..... you liberal pukes suck .. the lot of ya.

Michael Madison .. please google this story .. I'm starting to sound troll-ish on this story but nobody is responding about it and it REALLY matters.

foxmannumber1 says

rebuttal to the charges being dropped.

Anybody with half a brain know his(GZ's) dad was irrelevant in that. If his dad had ANY influence he wouldn't have been painted into a corner by the prosecutor with a choice of:

take a resisting arrest charge and/or assault on a p.o.
OR
take an alcohol class(admit guilt to an extent/charactor flaw)and the charges will be dropped
considering he was wanting to go into a law enforcement career

AT that point, it was decided for him by others, that he would never hold a federal LEO job, and be lucky to be anything greater than a rent-a-cop(security guard)

Without the either/or scenario, because of HIPAA laws nobody would have ever known about his alcohol treatment, unless of course if he was asked under a condition of perjury

1122   Bap33   2013 Jul 22, 2:28am

if Obama had a negro brother he would look like Michael Madison

1123   foxmannumber1   2013 Jul 22, 2:33am

Michael Madison is more proof that debunks the myth that only whites are serial killers.

Concerning GZ's alcohol treatment class, I don't think HIPAA applies. Anyone who gets a DUI or similar and has to attend alcohol education classes isn't shielded by HIPAA.

GZ did not enter a drug rehabilitation clinic nor was he never under the care of a doctor for this incident. He took a class to educate himself about abusing alcohol.

GZ was turned down by the VA state troopers because he had poor credit. No other factors were listed on his rejection letter.

lol, THAT was why. Credit checks have only recently been employed to use as an out for not hiring some idiot that they don't want, and it won't be susceptible to any court challenge on any grounds.

SoftShell says

On Murder charges, not on 'wrongful death' charges.

Being innocent of the murder charges does not exclude prosecution on the "wrongful death" charge.

Otherwise, how could OJ have been found "innocent" of murder, yet still be charged with "wrongful death"??

I tutored Leo on this very point awhile ago.

Innocent

Dictionary.com

Define Innocent Instantly. Faster Page Loads With Fewer Ads.

in·no·cent [in-uh-suhnt] Show IPA

adjective

1.

free from legal or specific wrong; guiltless: innocent of the crime.

CL says

After all, how can you bring a man up on charges after he was declared "innocent!"?

Then what is the point of "Declarations of factual innocence"?

http://www.californiacleanrecord.com/what-is-a-california-declaration-of-factual-innocence/

The court does not declare you "innocent". Why not? Because they can't know. They can only say that the evidence did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused committed the crime (acted with malice, etc).

In Zimmerman's case, we know he killed the child. Without the high bar, he will likely be found guilty in the Civil case.

If so, do you call him innocent, even if they find him guilty in a Wrongful Death suit?

I'll argue with Webster's, sure.

1127   leo707   2013 Jul 22, 3:04am

Bap33 says

WHo volunteers to help others?

Both.

You might not know, but Trayvon volunteered at a concession stand at a park, and volunteered to help students at a program to get young people involved with aviation. (Trayvon himself had gone through the program -- he was interested in engineering and aviation)

Bap33 says

Who is a thief?

Neither had any type of arrest record for being a thief. There is one suspected indecent where Trayvon might have been involved with theft.

I suppose you could include when Zimmerman stole the innocence of his cousin by allegedly repeatedly molesting her. However, he did say he was sorry...so I guess that is something.

Bap33 says

Who smokes dope on the regular?

Possibly Trayvon, but we don't know for sure. We do know that Zimmerman was taking medications, and has had problems with alcohol in the past. Zim had to go to an alcohol treatment program as part of his deal to get the charges dropped when he assaulted a police officer.

Bap33 says

Who was kicked out of school - twice?

Trayvon was kicked out of school over attendance issues -- nothing violent, and at the time of his death was kicked out for having a bag with pot resedue -- again nothing violent.

We don't know Zimmerman's school record, but we do know he was fired (aka - kicked out) of one job as a security guard for being too aggressive; including one time where Zim threw a drunk woman twisting her ankle.

Bap33 says

Who had facial tatoos?

Neither Zim or TM had facial tattoos. You may be recalling a picture of a rapper that was circulated by right-wing sights and attributed to being Travyon. You were fooled, Trayvon did not have facial tattoos.

Bap33 says

Who tutored young negro children?

Both Trayvon and Zimmerman volunteered to help kids with school programs.

Bap33 says

who would you rather see standing behind you at the ATM? or standing in the dark at the end of your driveway if you lived in that hood? or picking up your kids as the bus driver? or coaching your kids soccer team?

Silly, clearly you live somewhere that isolates you from blacks and I am sure this is your preference as it prevents your daily experience from tainting your pre-conceived notions about people of other races.

To answer your silly question I have on a daily basis interaction with people who look like both Trayvon and Zimmerman. 99% of the interaction is pleasant and polite. When I do have issues 90% of the time it is someone who looks more like Zimmerman (shaved head white/hispanic dude) than Trayvon (black teen in a hoodie).

My kids have had a couple of soccer coaches that look like Trayvon (one was only a substitute coach who I think is the best coach yet, and I will try and go full-time with that coach in the next session) and they have been great coaches that I would not replace simply to have someone who looks like Zimmerman.

A couple years ago some woman was attacked at night on the street outside the building I live in. It was somewhat comforting that a lot of people came running out when they heard her screams, and this may come as a shock to you but many of the people coming to help looked like Trayvon.

1128   leo707   2013 Jul 22, 3:10am

Bap33 says

or picking up your kids as the bus driver? or coaching your kids soccer team? ..

I really don't care what someone looked like, but I would not want anyone who had allegedly molested their cousin near my kids in any capacity.

Would you feel comfortable leaving your girls in Zimmerman's care?

Just cause someone is a black male does not mean they look like Trayvon Martin.

Ignorant racist.

1130   foxmannumber1   2013 Jul 22, 3:27am

TM took a 7 week aviation experience class when he was 14.
Great, he attended a camp 3 years before dying.

TM also volunteered at a concession stand during football games.
This was most likely to socialize.

When I see pictures from GZ's phone of him with weed plants, him blowing smoke and smoky Arizona watermelon fruit juice cocktail I'll consider him on the same level as TM.
There are also messages of TM buying weed and codeine.

TM was kicked out of school for missing ~50 days during the 1st 100 days of his last semester.
That is not simply "attendance issues". That is failing for normal white people. I highly doubt TM was 'helping kids' by being absent literally half the school year.

TM did not have facial tattoos, but did have tattoos.
Did TM's parents give written consent for their minor son to get those tattoos?
I would like to see photographs of them to verify its real family members names. I'm sure there's photos of him showing them off.
Googling 'Tracy Martin tattoo' brings up interesting results too.

TM had pictures of unclothed, underage girls on his phone. I'm sure the DOJ is looking into how old these girls were at the time when the photos were taken.

I believe TM tarnished his own character by his own actions. If there is evidence that any of this is not a fact, please let us know.

John Bailo says

In 2005, Zimmerman was arrested and charged with "resisting officer with
violence" and "battery of law enforcement officer." Both these felonies are
considered third-degree. Due to his desperate attempts, the charges were reduced
to "resisting officer without violence" and then the only remaining charge was
also completely waived off when he entered an alcohol education
program.

http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/11808013-george-zimmermans-criminal-records-revealed

Yup, and he admitted as such when he agreed to the conditions too.

And now, he'll NEVER hold any federal law enforcement position because of him admitting to the alcohol class condition, because that will be used as grounds for denial of a security clearance. The same goes for the military, too.

Low-level Barney Fife(with his history no department would hire him because of potential liability reasons), or mall cop.

1138   foxmannumber1   2013 Jul 22, 3:55am

John Bailo says

Trayvon Martin was 17.

"Underage" as defined by statutory rape would only apply to someone younger than age 14.

You should become more familiar with age of consent laws in FL.

No one is saying he had sex with the girls. He possessed an illegal picture of the girls. I don't see this as really relevant, as a lot of young people do it.

John Bailo says

It's also a sign of boredom from those with high intelligence. Many kids of all races will find typical high school boring if they have outgrown it before finishing.

Considering what TM wrote on social media, I think he was an unintelligent person.

I don't believe he was in the library those 50 days he was absent, solving the mysteries of the universe. I think he was walking around and getting high.

Alcohol education classes exist to educate people and give them a second chance, not to turn off life paths entirely for them.

Even I don't think the nudie pics of girls on TM's phone is a big deal. TM has nothing to worry about anymore.
