I have been repeatedly pointing out that the US is basically financing not only this futile war effort, but also Ukrainian non-military govt spending as well.

Now Biden has openly admitted to it.

Remarks made by President Joe Biden in April 2022 are making the rounds on social media as the United States continues to fund Ukraine with billions of taxpayer dollars and after Biden made a surprise trip to the country on Monday.

"This so-called supplemental funding addresses the needs of the Ukrainian military during the crucial weeks and months ahead. And it begins — it begins to transition to longer-term security assistance that’s going to help Ukraine deter and continue to defend against Russian aggression," Biden said at the White House. "It’s going to deliver much-needed humanitarian assistance as well as food, water, medicines, shelter, and other aid to Ukrainians displaced by Russia’s war, and provide aid to those seeking refuge in other countries from Ukraine."

"It’s also going to help schools and hospitals open. It’s going to allow pensions and social support to be paid to the Ukrainian people so they have something — something in their pocket," he continued.

American taxpayers have been funding pensions in Ukraine, a notoriously corrupt country, for more than a year. Today in Kyiv, Biden pledged an additional $500 million.

Meanwhile, Social Security in the United States is on the road to ruin.

"In 2034, Social Security revenues are projected to equal 77 percent of the program’s scheduled outlays, resulting in a 23 percent shortfall. Thus, CBO estimates that Social Security benefits would need to be reduced by 23 percent in 2034. The gap between scheduled and payable benefits would widen to 35 percent by 2096 and would remain stable thereafter," a report from the Congressional Budget Office shows.

The U.S. is $32 trillion in debt and inflation, which is crushing American families, continues to rage.

I thought this was a joke or exaggeration, then I read it today. The creative ways the government comes up with to launder money...

Those mighty Ukrainian pensions are about $65 per month per person. They are less if the recipients are married.

First off, it's not really going to those people. If you don't understand the corruption factory between US and Ukraine at this point, I can't help you.

Second, what's $65 times a few million people...

When you see more homeless, more people on welfare, more people working two jobs. Inflation starts at the bottom, but eventually it will eat you too. We also had a record year last year by our tax returns, but it will never be enough to stay ahead if things continue unchecked.

I've lived in blue-collar neighborhoods, and seen them decline for years now. It's the reason Trump won.

We are not paying for anything: we're simply borrowing at 0% from the frozen CCCP's assets which will ultimately belong to Ukraine as reparations for the illegal war being waged against it. So ultimately CCCP is paying for the whole covfefe entirely by their own choice.

Who is being crushed? Their's inflation for sure. Had our best income year by $50k over the last with all the Covid bull shit. So a loaf of bread is 0.50¢ higher. The horror. Gonna miss my mortgage payment. Lol. The poor will almost always be poor. Make more money.

make more money… if people could they would. see man you live in a world that worships money not jesus, where prevalent attitude is that poor deserve their poverty. it aint so and it ain’t right. inflation is crushing a lot of people. my neighbor hunts for food, he can’t afford to buy meat. this is america, not some third world nation. because constantly ever increasing cost of living crushing people… fee this, fee that, tax this, tax that… it adds up fast.

you well off, well good for you, but it isn’t easy for everyone. take your success with humility, for it isn’t a guarantee

Yep, about $300 billion has been seized from Russian investors, etc. by the West after the invasion of Ukraine. It cost about $50 billion each in 2022 and 2023 for the US to fund Ukraine. Withdraw that $100 billion from the $300 billion in assets seized.

Is there something in the appropriations bills that stipulate the money being sent to Ukraine is strictly sourced from seized Russian government and Russian citizen's assets? No? Then the source of the funding is the US taxpayer.

Who gives a fuck about technicalities? These $300B+ are not going back to the cretin of Moscow. He's paying for this little adventure 100% (and then some).

Also:

WASHINGTON, May 10 (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has authorized the first transfer of forfeited Russian assets for use in Ukraine, he said on Wednesday.

The Justice Department last year charged Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev with violating sanctions imposed on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine, saying he provided financing for Russians promoting separatism in Crimea.

At that time, Garland said, he also announced "the seizure of millions of dollars from an account at a U.S. financial institution traceable to Malofeyev’s sanctions violations."

In February, Garland said he authorized the transfer of that money for use in Ukraine.

"While this represents the United States’ first transfer of forfeited Russian funds for the rebuilding of Ukraine," Garland said, "it will not be the last,” he said in a statement.

I fucking told you it won't be us paying these pensions. Mark my words.
22   Ceffer   2023 Jun 8, 4:09pm

Yes, and I suppose Russia hasn't touched any Western assets in Russia because they are such nice guys? Seizure of assets could yield some profits if the assets of theirs you hold are greater than your assets they hold, but all in all, that can be close to a zero sum game. It sounds like another propaganda excuse to fund Ukraine, like the delusion that Ukraine is somehow funding itself. Straight from Mockingbird to our ears?

I don't know why you believe any claims of the US government. This is the same government that did a 200 billion dollar deal with Rosatom to sell US uranium.

Yuuuuuuge relief for all who worried about paying these pensions:

Write your representatives and urge them to push it through asap. If you are really worried about US taxpayers footing the bill for that Soviet aggression and not something else, that is.

But you all are right, my mother in law had a pension of about $100 a month in Ukraine. I think here are other pension benefits like utilities subsidy, public transportation subsidy, public health care, etc. But my mother in law said she was able to survive comfortably on that.

So Ukraine is a retirees paradise!

EU chief Von der Leyen: Frozen Russian assets will rebuild conflict-ravaged Ukraine

On Wednesday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that a proposal will be presented in the coming weeks to suggest using frozen Russian assets to provide support for Ukraine within the European Union. This proposal aims to utilize these frozen assets as a means of assisting Ukraine in its efforts.

Published June 21,2023

A proposal for the European Union to use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine will be put forward in the coming weeks, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday.

The European Commission will put forward a plan to do so before the summer break, von der Leyen said while attending a conference on Ukrainian reconstruction in London.

She said frozen Russian assets should be used "because the perpetrator has to be held accountable."

The Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is being held in London on Wednesday and Thursday, is supposed to lay the foundations for rebuilding Ukraine from the destruction of the ongoing Russian invasion.

I rather doubt this. The US stole a bunch of assets years ago. I doubt anybody in Russia was so stupid as not to divest for safety. I suppose it's possible, but I also think it's unlikely.

Real total US military aid delivered to the territory of Ukraine from February 24, 2022, till July 1, 2023, was not widely cited $113.5 bn., but in fact only $17.1 bn.:

Still $333B of Cretin's of Kremlin dough remains unspent.

60 Minutes discovered the U.S. is financing more than weapons in Ukraine. The government is buying seeds/fertilizer for farmers, paying the salaries of 57,000 first responders and subsidizing small businesses.

Freezing is a two way street. Like, nobody has investments in Russia? Freezing reduces liquidity on both sides, thus the lubricants of enterprise and commerce.
36   RWSGFY   2024 Apr 20, 6:27pm

The House passed a foreign aid package on Saturday as well as what's called the REPO Act that will allow the Biden administration to confiscate billions of dollars’ worth of Russian assets sitting in U.S. banks and transfer them to Ukraine for reconstruction.

That will get siphoned off to the MIC. 90% of it won't leave northern Virginia.

Oh, and Congress just passed a bill to keep paying those Ukey pensioners.
